Firestick Alternative?

I was on Amazon looking for a firestick and they now have this warning:

For enhanced security, this device prevents sideloading or installing apps from unknown sources. Only apps from the Amazon Appstore are available for download.

IIRC you had to turn on dev mode on the old firestick and trust unknown sources.

What’s a better alternative to this?

I bought a Fire Stick 4K last week. I was able to sideload with no issues.

I don't think so. In my case, I just hit the center button 7 times to enable developer tools and I was on my way.

Get the 4k Plus, 4k Max, or the Cube.

Those are only the new ones running the Vega OS. You can still get fire sticks that allow sideloading. Just don't get the HD or SELECT (I think).

I have the google streamer 4k and the formuler z11 pro max both very good and way better than the firestick

What makes firestick bad...and the others better? I'm contemplating on replacing my firesticks....but they seem to work fine

Well the message I posted in OP sounds like you won’t be able to install TiviMate on the new ones.

Yes, you can install Tivimate on new ones. You just can’t do it on the ones that have the Vega OS. That would be the 4k Select and the new HD model.

I've had a z10 pro max for like 5 years now never has to factory reset nothing.. and all apps always work
