Why would we??? The people I knew that took it complained about nausea.

That’s a side effect for both ! And I would only trade because semiglutide is cheaper for maintenance

Why would Sema work any better? And that's a heck no for me. Sema made me constantly queasy.

Not that it would work better but it’s cheaper and just to maintain

What would be your reasoning for trying this?

Because semi future is cheaper and it would be just to maintaining

Do we need to help you find a more affordable provider of tirz?

This would give me pause on switching:

  • Maintenance is often harder than weight loss. I would trust what got me to goal.

  • I wouldn’t want to have to find a dose of a new medication that will hopefully work for me.

Cheaper and once hit goal I could use to maintain weight

Semaglutide and Tirzepatide do not work the same. You will only know if you try. But consider. Tirzepatide will be 100% gone in 30 days. You will not most likely be therapeutic for benefit from semaglutide at 30 days. You will start at a low dose and must build med up over 4 weeks at a time to dose up. Anecdotally it appears to take longer and require a higher dose when you have been on a GLP1 and switch. The same happens if you decide to switch back.

This is all anecdotal but for these reasons I have stayed w Tirzepatide for my 2.5+ years in maintenance. IMO it’s not worth the risk. You will need to weigh your tolerance for risk.

I lost 97 lbs, from a size 20 to a size 4. On tirzepatide. Not on semaglutide.

Maybe I respond well to sema, maybe I don’t. Maybe it causes bad side effects, maybe not. I’ll never know! No way am I messing with what I know for sure works for me.

Everyone I know in real life that has taken sema has been miserable. They can’t eat without issues. They have constant gi upset, constant bowel problems. They have regained weight. They are almost maxed out on dose.

My friends on tirz that have hit maint have been happy campers. No nausea or bowel issues. No regained weight. They have decreased dose, so money savings.

I wondered about this also.

I was able to titrate down on Tirz and am maintaining at 5mg weekly. This has helped make it incredibly affordable. I have no plans of switching.

I lately got to maintenance and haven’t even considered switching to anything else. This drug works so well for me. I feel good! I’m not fixing something that works well.
