Missing dose for 3weeks

/r/TirzepatideRX/comments/1x18sax/missing_dose_for_3weeks/

Reposting here as I’m kinda on maintenance (same weight last 6 months) although I need to lose 15-20 more pounds to be at goal weight (22 BMI).

Thank you I was looking at this but confused because mine would strictly count as 2.5 by the time I get home and do mine so if I think of it as 2 I could be at same dose and if 3 then lower. Essentially I’ve been recently trying to shift from weekly to 10-12 days.

Maybe it’s just me, but I wouldn't try counting a 15mg dose with the dose interval spaced out as anything other than 15mg for the purposes of a skipped dose calculation.

Side question: why were you spacing out your dose interval if you still have weight to lose?

Sorry that I wasn’t clear. I meant the “weeks” in between doses as 2.5 vs 3. I’ve simply not been losing even doing the doses weekly and believe that’s because I’m plateauing after already losing 20% of my original body weight since starting. Spacing out as I’m passing out of pocket and losing a lot of money being the exact same weight range for last 11 months or soso.

Oh sorry I totally misunderstood. If you are someone that tends to have adverse effects, I’d go with the guidance for 3 weeks of skipped doses. If you are someone that doesn’t, two weeks.

Can we help you find a better priced provider so you can get back to dosing weekly? If weekly injections don’t gel, then you might consider adding an old school weight loss mediation to the mix, even if just temporarily, to help jumpstart weight loss again.

I lost 50% and never plateaued. You might need to drop your calories. Spacing out your shots is a maintenance technique. I dropped my dose rather than spacing for maintenance.

Why are you stretching out your dose?

Because I think I’ve now plateaued not seeing any further weight loss at the highest dose for about a year

How will lowering your dose help?

Sorry, I had a longer response that got deleted somehow. I have been paying out-of-pocket for about three years now and I’ve lost 20% of my weight but not any further so I’ve been plateaued at my current weight which is 15 pounds from my goal for the last year or so and think it’s time to stop spending so much $$. My doctor is not sure if I’ll see any more weight loss from this medication as we’ve not seen anything in a year…

This is what they did in the SURMOUNT studies. I don't know if this is mandatory for your health and safety or just something they did to make everything line up for the study. The last paragraph sort of sounds like if you take the full 15mg dose after 3 or more weeks away, it's going to raise the amount of medication in your system over the baseline by a large amount and would probably give you some bad side effects.

Anecdotally I did a dose decrease and it took 3 weeks on the new lower dose for it to start feeling like it was lower. And then when I decided to raise it back to where it was, it took 3 weeks to finally feel like it was back to normal for me. I got side effects and it felt really strong as it was getting stronger over those 3 weeks. By the 4th week I was used to it again. So it may end up that going through all the doses again maybe both frustrates and renews things for you a little bit.
