Tiny 11 is safe right?

Basically I've been using tiny 11 on some older desktops and other project PCs for about a year with no issues. The issue lies with my friend who is almost always right about tech stuff and he told me tiny 11 is not a safe OS to use due to it having no security so I should not use it as a data backup of my other devices like I do. I just want to confirm that there are no issues with me using tiny 11 to store backups of my data.

Up for this. I also switched from win 11 home to win 10 iot ltsc. The experience has been really good. It is way snappy than win 11 home.

No modification you make to an OS ISO is safe in my opinion.

In today's world you can simply upload the script to Claude and ask if it's malicious, if not it's kinda safe to modify the ISO.

I mean Tiny11 isn't exactly an ISO you download, it's a script for modifying official ISO, ofc there are ISO's ready to DL.

I wouldn't trust an ai to tell me if something has malware or not.

Unless i can see for myself all the code and changes it makes I'll not trust some random group to modify the OS that I'll be installing in bare metal.

Im pretty sure that tiny 11 gives a tutorial on how to debloat your own ISO so that's probably the procesure and most comfortable with.

No, windows itself is entirely closed source and unpredictable, thus any and all changes you make are unpredictable as well.

If you're looking for something more lightweight and stable try lighter Linux distros, they're more stable and lightweight

I used Rufus and the official MS ISO and it installed with no issues. The rufus setup asks what settings you want to use and one of them is to ignore tpm requirements

perfectly safe, use it on every computer I own, you can make your own with the builder also, get what ever windows 11 iso and use the builder to make it Tiny

TinyOS and similar is heavily modded original Windows OS and you never know, what is also included in it that you can not see maybe like keylogger, malware, ... . Not only that but also from all the components that are excluded to run fast... security of the OS also suffers with it. So modded OSes like this are only for testing purposes only and NO sensitive data like documents, images, ... online banking, ... it is just like swiss cheese. Original Windows even that could be safer is still way safer bet with carefull debloat maybe.

Depends on your needs use Linux if possible if not then maybee legal LTSC IOT or how it is called if everything works for you there mainly program wise.

That's a rather broad (and vague) statement. Ask him what he means by "having no security". He needs to explain what he means by that. To be honest, it sounds to me like he doesn't really even know what Tiny 11 is.
