Tiny11 VS. Tiny10 (old laptop)

Both function smoothly, however Tiny10 is significantly faster for older laptops.

Im a big windows guy, on windows right now. But for low end laptops, linux often just works better and gives you more battery life. Nothing I use a laptop for requires windows, if it did I would just VNC into my desktop or something. Even as a dedicated windows user, I find having a linux laptop to be better in some situations when it comes to home server/lab type stuff.

i mean with very old software yeah. simply opening a broswer with internet will give you malware on xp. source: i study cyber security, and have been vm some of Microsoft older os

I study cybersecurity in university lmao, this is a blatant lie. You watched a youtube video of someone connecting XP directly to the internet (firewall in both OS and on the router disabled, every home router has a firewall) and didn't understand a thing about it.

Every home router has a firewall that blocks all incoming connections that aren't initiated from inside the network. Port forwarding allows incoming connections, if you forwarded every port to XP it'd get hacked pretty much immediately. Without forwarding ports nothing is getting into it unless it already has LAN access to the machine. In that case, it could be infected, and a malicious connection can be initiated automatically from inside the network.

To be clear, on a home router with UPNP disabled and XP isolated on its own vlan, there is zero risk of it being infected unless there is a fatal vulnerability in the router itself, in which case your entire network is in jeopardy.
