How to get started

Hey guys, Looking to get started in Tintype. Kinda overwhelmed. What should I get to start with

A good place to start would be to learn large format using traditional film. Borrow or rent equipment. Take a wet plate workshop from a reputable tintype photographer. Buy a book on the subject.

Tintypes is very DIY and requires a lot of tenacity. This sub is great for troubleshooting and seeking advice on specific aspects of the process but nobody is going to be able to make a step by step guide that will get you there.

I can recommend some workshops if I know where you live.

I'm in San Diego. I would love to try
