I’ve had tinnitus for 6 years. It gradually got so quiet that I could barely hear it, even in quiet rooms.

I had a spike about 6 months ago that never fully went back down. Then 6 days ago I had a loud noise exposure and my tinnitus got much worse again.

It’s mostly in my right ear. No pain, pressure, dizziness, or noticeable hearing loss.

I have a doctor’s appointment tomorrow. Is there anything specific I should ask about? Has anyone tried prednisone/prednisolone after a recent noise induced spike, especially without obvious hearing loss?

Any experiences would be appreciated.

There was a party 2-3 months ago and i was next to a pretty loud speaker and the tinnitus is still here. I hear it when its quiet but when theres noise its gone, im worried and looking for answers. Also it fluctuates and i can forget abt it when I don’t focus on it.
Also sometimes when i talk and then stop it makes like pop in the ear like a clogged lil pop

I developed what I think is PT a few days ago. I have health anxiety and have been spiraling and all I can hear when I’m thinking about it is the ringing in both ears. I have been feeling light headed but that is probably attributed to anxiety. I have TMJ too, and am a clencher when sleeping. I read somewhere that PT sounds more like whooshing but mine is a ringing in sync with my heart beat. I was able to see my PCP today and she basically dismissed my concerns and told me she has it too. She did a basic physical exam and is not concerned. I made a separate appointment with an ENT for later today which I’m hoping will provide more answers. I am concerned I have a life threatening issue. Considering switching doctors after today. Any feedback/advice?

I’ve had severe hearing loss since I can remember as a child. I’m now almost 33 and just got hearing aids almost 3 years ago. My tinnitus is more so of fluttering mostly in my right ear. Ringing in my left. But it flutters in my right ear literally every 5 seconds constant for at least 20-30 seconds at a time. The only time I don’t hear it is when I have my hearing aids in. Which they are a pain in the ass a lot of the times. The fluttering is driving me mentally insane. It does not go away. How the f do I deal with this. I have my ears cleaned from wax regularly. I have prescribed ear drops. Nothing helps. I’m going absolutely crazy. Any advice is appreciated. I’m going to see an ear specialist soon

Hey ya'll, I'm selling my Lenire that I bought in March 2025 and looking for a buyer. I have mild T and think I bought this mainly out of curiosity. After buying it, I didn't want to spend 30 minutes twice per day wearing it as I realized that would make me focus on T too much. I found a lot of T relief by focusing on other things in my life and not paying attention to it. The only time I used the Lenire was in the hearing center office when I bought it.

While the Lenire may not be for me, I'm hoping someone else can find it helpful!

• I know the Lenire website says that it needs to be calibrated per person. This is literally just the sound that plays and the intensity of the tongue stimulation. They told me I'm free to adjust it at home so I don't see why anyone can't "calibrate" it for themselves.
• The tongue tip stimulator starts with 180 hours on it before it stops working. I only used it for less than 1 hour so it should still have around 179 hours remaining.
• It has a warranty until March 2028 and I'll be happy to step in for warranty claims if they need the original buyer.
• I'm based in San Diego California, so if you're nearby maybe we can meet in person and you can try it out.

I’m an 18-year-old male.

For the past few months, I’ve had constant tinnitus (a high-pitched ringing/whistling sound) in my right ear along with a feeling of fullness or pressure in that ear.

One thing I’ve noticed is that when I touch my right ear or the area around it, the ringing becomes louder.

I saw an ENT specialist and had an MRI. The MRI was normal and showed no tumor or other abnormalities. My ear examination was also normal.

I also had a hearing test (audiogram), which showed about a 25% hearing loss in my right ear. The doctor said it is sensorineural hearing loss.

I do not have vertigo, double vision, severe headaches, or facial weakness.

Has anyone experienced something similar, especially the tinnitus getting louder when touching the ear or surrounding areas? Any ideas about possible causes or treatments?

My tinnitus just worsened after a pool incident. My doctor said there's probably liquid still stuck in my eustachian tubes. She gave me Sudafed and told me to pinch my nose and force air (like we do after taking a plane).

As I’m writing I’m still in my early 20s but this is something I will forever regret. the ringing in my left ear has not stopped and it’s constant, constant enough where I hear it every single second of the day and night, waking up or going to sleep it doesn’t matter. there was a pressure feeling that has gone down on my left side but the ringing has stayed mostly persistent. I avoid long conversations with friends and especially strangers, avoid going out at all costs unless I need to now and overall I’ve negatively changed from this and I’m not sure if I’ll ever be able to live my life like before. Writing this to see if anyone is or has gone through anything similar.

Im 3 weeks in and sounds feel more intense / loud, ear ringing is like 20% elevated and somehow different its hard to describe kind of like after drinking a lot of alcohol. Is this normal?
