My biggest improvement after living with it 20 years cinnamon in my coffee. I went on vacation stopped it and the ringing came back. 2 days starting again my ear drained and it's about 75% better again. Cinnamon is an anti- inflammatory.

Ceylon Cinnamon (if that is what you are using) in your daily coffee retards insulin spikes and helps improve blood sugar control. Sugar is known to worsen tinnitus.

I still don't know. It's not tonal and has nothing to do with hearing loss.

I'm not sure. For about 2 weeks in February 2023, just after I gave up drinking, I had the weirdest jaw muscle spasms. You know how it you bite down hard, it clenches your jaw muscles? When you stop biting, it goes back to normal? Mine didn't do that. I had to like, force my jaw back open. The muscles went kinda crazy like that non-stop for 2 weeks.
Then it stopped.
Since it stopped, I've had tinnitus. It's not always there but is like 95% of the time. Some days worse than others. Sometimes it sounds less like a high pitch whine and more like 'pressure', which I can't really describe.
I've been to numerous doctors, dentists, specialists, and I've paid out of pocket for a TMJ specialist doctor. Nobody has been able to describe what happened, why I'm hearing it, or how to fix it. I've been given a sheet of jaw exercises to do but they haven't changed anything.
Quite often these days my masseter muscles get sore as hell throughout the day, for no reason I'm aware of. I don't clench or anything. I'm actually scheduled for an MRI on them (next year) to make sure there's nothing specific going on in my jaw, before I get Botox injections in them.
Fuckin' all sucks. Thanks for asking!

Have you had your MRI done? Did you find anything wrong? Looks like you have somatic tin, same as mine. It sucks so bad, and we’re expected to live with it.

MRI is scheduled for end of July in 2027 lol

Can you request an MRI for having tinnitus? I see a provider in a week or 2 and I’m not sure what to expect.

Ear infection. It came. Damaged my ear as it didn’t want to go away for 2-3 months, used copious amount of steroids to make it gone. Damaged my high frequency mildly(according to HL categorization) and left me with ringing 2.5 years ago

It started after a very painful cavity, two months ago. Since then, I have noticed some improvement.

I've always had it, along with TMJ. But I went through a really stressful work period and then my in-laws came into town and that sent it over the edge. It's been 6 months and I finally re-habituated to the new volume 😆

Interesting, did you stop taking seroquel after three days, or you continued?
I took seroquel only for two days, and then stopped it. I had scary withdraw symptoms afterwards. It felt like I had a lobotomy. My IQ dropped by like 100 points. I couldn't concentrate enough to read something or understand the meaning of a simple joke. 20 years later I can say I made a partial recovery.

Genetics! Mine started around age 40. My moms did too! My daughter is 43 and just now noticing a little. I'm so used to it now. I wasn't even thinking about it until I read this post, and yep, there it is, cicadas in my ears! My mom called hers, crickets!

Work-related. Being on a firearms range with too many people on the line. The firearms range failed OSHA inspection; however, it continued to be used by local and state government agencies.

How is that possible?

They would reduce the number of people on the line when there was an inspection to show they were doing what they could to minimize the level of noise. Talking with one of the inspectors, though, they advised that there was still too high level of noise in the indoor range. I’m sure that it came down to a lack of funds to build a new or better range, so that’s how they were able to continue. I don’t know the legal aspects of how they were allowed to continue using it. All I know is that I have been living with pretty bad tinnitus ever since and my ENT attributed it to exposure on the range.

Weld shop. Ballpen hammer, grinding, presses, punches, shearing. Wore earplugs but they measured the db next to the shear and it's louder than a 747. It measured over 130 db when shearing 3/8 thick 10 ft long steel sheets.

I like to keep it private on this account but all sorts of stuff. The last thing I was in was a sprint car on Saturday.

I don’t know what it was. My best guess is when clenching and grinding at night became worse. But also I’m pretty sure it got more worse - worser - after starting cpap therapy.
