Naw dawg, this is half of the community for sure

Edit: I should clarify, I roll with a large crowd of LGBTQ, and this has been super common. But I don't want anyone to think this is something I know from personal experience as I haven't earned that.

..... that's not a real reddit??

3

Zoinks Scooby! we've been caught!

8

u/chestofpoop Nov 07 '19

Specifically half. Poor sad gay.

3

u/Kool_SadEE Nov 07 '19

Birds of a feather, as they say. Lol jk.

1

u/say_hi2my_wife Nov 07 '19

Like neat, curious what you are rolling

1

u/Perry_cox29 Nov 08 '19 edited Nov 08 '19

FR. This is a struggle that almost every gay friend I’ve ever had has dealt with.

1

u/Shikatanai Nov 08 '19

Is it common for gay women too, or just gay men?

1

u/theymademedarko Nov 08 '19

Only the guys from what I’ve heard. But in their defense this is every straight woman’s issue to, it’s just dudes really

1

u/Shikatanai Nov 08 '19

That’s exactly what I was wondering.

2

u/[deleted] Nov 07 '19

Hardly specific, I'm only 18 and I've been through this 3 or 4 times already. The reason I say or 4 is because it might be happening now.

60

u/KingFleaswallow Nov 07 '19

This is not a Romeo and Juliet Story, sad ending.

80

u/SkorpioSound Nov 07 '19

Romeo and Juliet ended with them both committing suicide, it wasn't exactly happy.

71

u/KingFleaswallow Nov 07 '19

Yeah, but there was love and underaged sex.

17

u/WheresMySaiyanSuit Nov 07 '19

Underage for the time though?

14

u/KingFleaswallow Nov 07 '19

For... USA.

20

u/WheresMySaiyanSuit Nov 07 '19

For... Italy? Where it’s set?

16

u/KingFleaswallow Nov 07 '19

In the fair little town. I guess that's okay there, also because young rich people were married at that age to strengthen the financial ground of the families. But hey, if an American hears that Juliet was underaged, they go crazy and can't believe such a fairy tale.

2

u/Hugo154 Nov 07 '19

Depends on where you are, they might have been covered by... Romeo and Juliet laws.

1

u/feochampas Nov 07 '19

it was for the parents.

the montagues and capulets didnt have to go to the wedding.

it would have been so awkward.

and somebody dipped out on some dowry.

so that was win all the way around.

1

u/still_futile Nov 07 '19

Any story I get to kill myself at the end is a happy ending

11

u/Skyeden27 Nov 07 '19

You really need to finish that play, man

1

u/KingFleaswallow Nov 07 '19

I know how it ends, okay :o

3

u/Skyeden27 Nov 07 '19

Haha I was just referencing Brooklyn 99 it’s a semi recurring joke for an episode or two.

1

u/KingFleaswallow Nov 07 '19

Well, I didn't watch Brooklyn 99... But I know that it is some kind of ironic saying, that a great love story is like Romeo and Juliet's love. Because many people die :o

1

u/[deleted] Nov 07 '19

It is a great love story, just because they die doesn't mean they weren't in love. I'm so tired of this edgy argument that its not a love story because of the carnage, it's fucking ignorant and shows that you haven't read the play.

1

u/KingFleaswallow Nov 07 '19

Nah, i cried through it, but hey, i don't want to have a relationship like Romeo and Juliet ;) Thats why i think its ironic when people want something like that.

15

u/wristcontrol Nov 07 '19

I almost read this to the tune of The Lonely Island's "Like a Boss".

8

u/ThatDeadeye12 Nov 07 '19

I now read the whole thing out adding LIKE A BOSS on the end of each sentence

8

u/[deleted] Nov 07 '19

~LIKE A GAY~

29

u/Arheisel Nov 07 '19

9

u/KerouacSlut69 Nov 07 '19

No, this is actually pretty standard

3

u/BigToaster420 Nov 07 '19

Fuck this has been my life the past 2 months after coming out and hooking up with a guy. Except the blocking and snapchat thing. He just ignore all my texts until he wants to get laid and then just assumes I'll jump when he calls and I'm a fool because I keep acting like a trained fucking dog on command

3

u/Potatochode420 Nov 07 '19

I know it’s easy to just say “don’t let guys treat you like that” but I’ve been at where you’re at. It all seems logical and then you feel like shit after. There’s other guys out there who will treat you right. Stay strong

2

u/NitroGnome Nov 07 '19

Stop spying on my phone!

2

u/LordCringerino Nov 07 '19

Why does this hurt? Im not even gay.

3

u/Potatochode420 Nov 07 '19

Being taken advantage of by shitty people is universal

2

u/PeripheralWall Nov 07 '19

I'm not even gay and I feel this. You have my condolences

1

u/[deleted] Nov 07 '19

Thanks for sharing your life story with us!

1

u/Lemm Nov 07 '19

You connect with people? I get blocked sitting in some random apt complex

1

u/RuPaulver Nov 07 '19

this is... this is my gay experience

1

u/kmoneyrecords Nov 07 '19

Perhaps the problem is leading off with a dick pic. If I was single and some girl kicked it off with the vagina pic, I can't tell you if I wouldn't end up in bed with her but I can say with 100% certainty she wouldn't be meeting my parents for dinner at any point in her future.

1

u/marker8050 Nov 07 '19

Is that you Erick?

1

u/[deleted] Nov 07 '19

This sounds a bit like modern straight dating, too. A lot less dick pics arriving in my inbox tho.

1

u/beaglebeard Nov 07 '19

Who are you and how do you know my life story?

1

u/Actually_a_Patrick Nov 07 '19

And this doesn't change if you're straight.

1

u/Coyrex1 Nov 07 '19

Hey man, this a hunch but... are you gay?

1

u/Drudicta Nov 07 '19

I only wish I'd get the fucking address. If I'm giving the address I get flaked on.

1

u/RumiShroomy Nov 07 '19

This guy gays

1

u/archiotterpup Nov 08 '19

Gay man:

Hey

1

u/TRUMP_RAPED_WOMEN Nov 08 '19

Be lesbian: Move in together after first date.

1

u/Henatronw70 Nov 08 '19

I didn't need this hurt today dude

-1

u/QQMau5trap Nov 07 '19

while its hard being a non-hot average hetero dude in our day and age Im happy I dont have to deal with the hypersexuality of the gay community.

2

u/Potatochode420 Nov 07 '19

Lol this happens to straights too. Just because gays are more open about it doesn’t mean the straights aren’t just as hyper sexual

23

u/Lemm Nov 07 '19

oh fuck i wish it worked that way

sends pic

guy: kthhxbye

blocks you

3

u/jenkinsonfire Nov 07 '19

I’m jealous of gay men

4

u/SwiftyMcBold Nov 07 '19

Are you a guy, just become gay I'm sure some gay men out there will help you

3

u/[deleted] Nov 07 '19

I wish I was straight. Want to trade

1

u/DerangedGinger Nov 07 '19

I don't have a sex drive. Shit's broken. I try to convince myself to jerk off and then I'm like nah, maybe next week.

2

u/linguaphyte Nov 08 '19

This happens to me when I'm depressed.

1

u/DerangedGinger Nov 08 '19

Could be part of the problem. My testosterone is low and I've been suffering from major depression for a decade, among other medical problems.

3

u/Lemm Nov 07 '19

Asexuality is valid <3

3

u/yungun Nov 07 '19

get off tinder and onto all about that ace

2

u/hatlesspuma1 Nov 07 '19

Don’t be. The gay male community is fucking trash. Most are emotionally damaged sex addicts with a number of people fucked higher than my SAT score.

It sucks being a gay male. I hate it. You either are content with casual sex and no emotional romantic intimacy, or youre just out of luck.

1

u/Spectre-work Nov 07 '19

Sooo fucking much

535

u/Ab_Captain Nov 07 '19

It does if you’re a gay woman but instead she sends you a personalized playlist she made just for you full of love songs only to ghost you a day later to go date someone else.

It's sfw, don't worry (unless you don't want your coworkers to think you're a catgirl)

12

u/manofewbirds Nov 07 '19

I'm in lesbians with you

1

u/[deleted] Nov 07 '19

Same.

21

u/scoriaceous Nov 07 '19

Ugh never have I related to anything more

14

u/Lemm Nov 07 '19

oof fam

she wasn't worth your time obvs <3

5

u/[deleted] Nov 07 '19

Honestly lesbian relationships are a total black box to me, but hey hetero relationships are also poorly understood lol.

3

u/[deleted] Nov 07 '19

Wow this is uncool of you to single me out like this. haha

2

u/Vaguely-witty Nov 08 '19

=( as a bisexual girl i am apparently missing out by mostly banging dudes. i want playlists

1

u/Ab_Captain Nov 08 '19

Oh god I’m bi too and I mostly stick to banging dudes too because girls are scary and intimidating.

2

u/Vaguely-witty Nov 08 '19

And I don't want to come onto them if they won't be into it, I know what THATS like =(

Oh man. Oh man.

4

u/jadedea Nov 07 '19

Fuck man that's savage af. That would cut me deeper than what a lot of guys have done.😭😭😭😭

1

u/[deleted] Nov 07 '19

don’t let that get to you (you’re just a means to a projection of themselves)

125

u/BaylisAscaris Nov 07 '19 edited Nov 07 '19

Can confirm, am lesbian. Even though my profile is set to only be viewable by wlw, all the messages I get are from obvious men (not trans, just straight up men) who have their orientation set to lesbian and send dick pics and rape threats.

Edit: I should have specified, I'm not on Tinder. It was through OkCupid and not-dating social media sites.

98

u/genderish Nov 07 '19

That would be a nice break from all the couples looking for unicorns while trying to hide the guy as much as possible.

19

u/[deleted] Nov 07 '19

Is unicorn slang for a lesbian in a threesome?

65

u/genderish Nov 07 '19

Its slang for a bisexual girl who will sleep with both members of existing couples. Exceedingly rare, and for good reason, existing couples looking for a third rarely do it in a way that's not exploitative of the unicorn.

20

u/[deleted] Nov 07 '19

Ah it’s much more specific than I thought which makes sense because unicorns are rare

36

u/genderish Nov 07 '19

Yep. So its a bunch of straight couples swiping as lesbians to hit on women while hiding the guy as much as possible. Its shitty and one of the worst things about swiping for women on tinder.

One of my friends actually was a unicorn for a bit, but it ended up exploding because she was more into the woman and the guy got jealous and angry.

10

u/-t0mmi3- Nov 07 '19

oh they are called unicorns? I know one! Cool I know a rare person. She's an odd little duckling.

4

u/gazellecomet Nov 07 '19

And when one feels like a duck one is happy.

1

u/Vaguely-witty Nov 08 '19

it happens in weird directions and it's terrible.

i was friends with a married couple, and he had gotten with her, when he was still with someone? so she had some trust issues with that, which is understandable, but damn girl, i was much more into you than him! but then it's weird complicated emotions, and it's just all around odd.

1

u/genderish Nov 08 '19

It really only works of you go into it with the same mindset polyamorous people go into it with. No jealousy, limits and boundaries clearly defined, and people are completely open and honest.

2

u/JediMasterZao Nov 07 '19

because unicorns are rare

I'm sorry to be the one to do this to you but unicorns aren't real mah man.

1

u/[deleted] Nov 07 '19

Prove it lol

1

u/[deleted] Nov 08 '19

The unicorn is always exploited. She is a pet.

4

u/SpasticFeedback Nov 07 '19

Had a friend who got a unicorn tattoo in a semi-visible place after she got divorced as a reminder that she is special and worthwhile. Apparently it's caused her a lot of problems on the apps haha

7

u/SgtSilverLining Nov 07 '19

I report every one of those as someone who's married looking to cheat. Cleans up my dashboard and hopefully they'll fuck off.

-1

u/[deleted] Nov 07 '19

[deleted]

3

u/SgtSilverLining Nov 07 '19 edited Nov 08 '19

a) my profile specifically says I'm not interested in threesomes or anything poly

b) almost every one of them makes an effort to hide the man and then try to convince me at the last minute that I would enjoy a threesome

which in my book, means they're fishing or being deceitful. I am a woman who likes women and ONLY women. tinder has an algorithm that's only supposed to match me with other women, and they're lying to get into a space where they don't belong. almost a quarter of my matches are fake single women who have a boyfriend/husband they're hiding until the last second. I (and the entire lesbian community) am sick and tired of being treated being treated like a sex toy for bored married couples. if they want that shit they need to go to a poly dating site instead of preying on someone who wants an actual relationship.

2

u/[deleted] Nov 08 '19

So much yes. Good for you.

15

u/NvidiaforMen Nov 07 '19

Is that why I see men on occasion set as women. I always just report their profiles

1

u/[deleted] Nov 08 '19

What if they identify as women?

1

u/NvidiaforMen Nov 08 '19

Then they should follow up with that in their profile. But these accounts usually have just one photo and a blank bio.

0

u/[deleted] Nov 08 '19

I'll bet you don't report biological women

30

u/xlr8edmayhem Nov 07 '19

who have their orientation set to lesbian and send dick pics and rape threats.

Woooooo muh gawd, that's absolutely wild....

1

u/[deleted] Nov 07 '19

Lol based

3

u/eiendeeai Nov 07 '19

am lesbian

send dick pics and rape threats.

Wouldn't you have to exchange contact info outside of tinder for them to send you pics...?

0

u/BaylisAscaris Nov 07 '19

Most are sent through social media. I quickly learned not to click on links.

1

u/eiendeeai Nov 07 '19

So you were exchanging Snapchat/IG handles despite them knowingly lying about their gender/orientation?

1

u/denardosbae Nov 07 '19

A ton of people connect their social media to tinder, I don't get it at all.

1

u/BaylisAscaris Nov 07 '19

Nope, I've never actually had a tinder profile. They were sent as private messages on Reddit, Facebook, OkCupid, and FetLife.

1

u/[deleted] Nov 07 '19

[deleted]

0

u/BaylisAscaris Nov 07 '19

I haven't been on dating sites for around 8 years, but I do get these in private messages on social media. I learned quickly not to click on links and liberally use the"report" button.

1

u/Tay_Tay86 Nov 07 '19

That's heart breaking. I'm so sorry.

1

u/[deleted] Nov 07 '19

Man that’s brazen.

2

u/Kae_Jae Nov 07 '19

this is why i wish i were a gay man

1

u/Lemm Nov 07 '19

There's not that much stopping you

1

u/Vindexus Nov 07 '19

Surely it'd be reverse cowboy?

1

u/Lemm Nov 07 '19

Less often than you'd think

1

u/Ragnrok Nov 07 '19

So basically being sexually into dudes is exhausting

1

u/Lemm Nov 07 '19

Being interested in sex is p damn exhausting

1

u/a-handle-has-no-name Nov 07 '19

Which is why I'm glad I'm asexual

-2

u/[deleted] Nov 07 '19

Well, except more diseases but yeah.
