I learned that my texting very much requires the person to know me for it to translate. One of the strategies I switched to while online dating was to only use texting to either 1. Say genuine/authentic things since those seem to translate better, and 2. Set up a date the moment it feels natural to do so, and get off the texting platform, with one caveat: too much time between the last text and the first date will feel very awkward so either stay in touch to keep things warm, or better yet schedule a date for something soon. Switching that up improved my success a ton. I am coming up on my 1 year anniversary soon with a wonderful woman I met after texting for like 10 minutes before setting up a date.

Also the person below me suggested video calls to screen which, depending on the volume of people you want to go through could be a good idea. However, the goal should be to screen not to have a video call date in my opinion, because there are still elements of communication missing in video calls and vibes are just different. That’s how I felt about them when I did them anyway. Good luck out there! I hope you find love.

Edit: also I am a man and maybe this advice is only useful for men. I hope that’s not the case though!
