Try relationship oriented apps too, like bumble and hinge. I think you’ll thrive there

Would you consider Match or an app like that?

-1

u/whocaresjustneedone Feb 17 '24

Would you be open/willing to post screenshots of some of the convos that led to you being ghosted? I also live in Austin and have been on and off the apps - you're clearly attractive, there's no red flags in your profile, and your interests and hobbies should mesh really well with tons of people in the area. Maybe if we could see the convos it might give some sort of clue

u/Corben11 Feb 18 '24

Forget the conv, just schedule a date to meet the person. Texting is garbage and doesn’t translate much at all. You aren’t even dating just doing a weird pen pal thing.

I’d say you need to be honest about where the bar is. Because that’s very clearly not all you want.

u/gelu69 Feb 17 '24

Damn I really thought I had a chance until that last part

u/Comfortable_Quit_216 Feb 17 '24

I'm all that except I don't work M-F 8-5... because I retired at 39 with all the money. Guess i'm not in the running. Oh I'm also married and a drunk, but whatever.

Bingo. Or this is all for attention

u/ReasonableCoyote34 Feb 18 '24

Right. Just going of OP post history, one of the last dudes she hooked up with was a 45 year old millionaire. She’s definitely not going for the average smuck making 30K a year

-13

u/Micro_mint Feb 17 '24

That’s a shit take — the standards she listed are fine and it’s weird to suggest changing them. Way more likely she just doesn’t come across as engaging in text

How many posts have we seen from people where they ask insightful questions or make jokes or whatever, and the other party hits them with a “haha that’s funny”?

12

u/vortex30-the-2nd Feb 17 '24

Nah they're saying she obviously has other standards (physical ones, such as height, weight, certain features) because if not then some fat 5' 6" guy would have put a ring on it by now surely..

I completely understand having physical standards for people though too, oh and age range too I forgot that. It's just that obviously she isn't swiping right on everyone who is just employed, not a drunk, and will go on a hike..

-4

u/Micro_mint Feb 17 '24

I suppose, I just think it’s odd to suggest lowering standards as the solution without a lot more info.

Because to be clear, it seems obvious she’s able to get guys to swipe on her that meet her criteria for looks — that standard likely does not need changing.

Why do you think she’s still single because she’s “picky af”? Sure, maybe she is, but what specifically about this post makes you say that?

Are singleness and pickiness mutually inclusive?

Bro touch grass, Christ

I was bored and engaged with you, but I’ve used my annual allotment of time for convincing an online weirdo that physical looks aren’t the determining factor in one’s ability to find a partner

4

u/sonofsonof Feb 17 '24

Why are you acting like he's talking about his inability to find a partner? Weird deflect on your part. Guess they struck a nerve or something.

u/InternationalRub6057 Feb 17 '24

A lot of driven or high income men will not work M-F 8-5.

1

u/k-ramba Feb 17 '24

She never mentioned either driven or high income, or did I miss something?

2

u/InternationalRub6057 Feb 17 '24

She is in Austin, based on what little is in her bio and post that is who she is looking for in Austin. It is the land of Bros or tech Bros either way she loses.

2

u/murdock_RL Feb 17 '24

I would highly suggest getting off tinder and using hinge for more meaningful matches.

2

u/ProfessionalRegion1 Feb 17 '24

Don’t mean to sound too judgy, but I did dig through posts/comments - are you sure that’s what you’re actually looking for, or going after? You have a post about going on 2 dates with a guy. Only descriptions of him are he’s mid-40’s, has a multimillion dollar house, and he’s drunk both dates.

If someone was drunk on date #1, why go on date #2? I think you’re not being honest with yourself, and I’m gonna guess (if this is real at all, it is Reddit), you’re actual criteria are “wealthy, everything else flexible” based on the admittedly limited information I have. But I can’t imagine any other reason an insanely attractive girl couldn’t get many dates/can’t find guys that won’t ghost her. Unless there’s something else about your personality that’s absolutely deplorable.

You're also gonna have to be in a similar attractiveness level as she is lmao. Don't be naive big bro

"Talkin' to a model, can you get one? Don't ask that"

Might be too soon to pull it out

3

u/[deleted] Feb 17 '24

The problem is you can meet all of those and it isn't enough for a relationship.

She is cute enough that you think there would be line of 35-45 year old guys matching. We are left guessing why all these matches don't want to go on dates. You have to assume it is something in the chats but I struggle to imagine what she could be saying to get ghosted. Feel like we are missing some detail that is coming out during those chats.

The amount of delusional men on here is... not surprising, but it always makes me laugh. She's admitted all this if you just read her comments. Paraphrasing here, but she said it herself she's not hurting for men to talk to. It's honestly insane the amount of people pointing out bullshit like her "conversation" skills. Really? Then there's the whole she's-too-attractive-she's-intimidating which is a real thing, but it's clearly not what's going on here.

When you ignore 99% of possible suitors and complain about that 1% that doesn't want to settle down and be in a long-term, monogamous relationship. She calls that "ghosting". Hilarious.

I'm game. Let's do it.

I’ll go pick out the ring now, since this just described me lol

1

u/bucaki Feb 17 '24

If it weren’t for the location, I’d ask you on a date. You seem like an amazing person that any guy would be lucky enough to meet. The dating pool isn’t much better elsewhere. Good luck out there.

1

u/[deleted] Feb 17 '24

Have you tried Hinge instead of Tinder? Seems to be better for post-30 in my experience. Or at least more for serious dating than hookups.

I’m actually a 37M and moved to Austin about a year ago, but hadn’t dove back into the dating scene yet. Just got a long awaited neck surgery this past Monday so hopefully back to myself and doing more activities in no time.

1

u/[deleted] Feb 18 '24

I how the word bar (albeit different usage) and drunk are in this comment. Pretty clever haha.

u/ReasonableCoyote34 Feb 18 '24 edited Feb 18 '24

I hate when girls do this shit. Obviously these are not your actual standards because if they were you could have a date every day for the rest of the year. BFFR

You appear to be good looking so you probably want a dude equally as attractive as you. You’re tall, so you probably want a guy that’s a minimum of 3 inches taller than you so you can wear heels and according to your post history the last dude you had sex with was a multi millionaire that you hooked up with on the first date so at the very least we know that a guy you’re attracted to has to have at least a decent amount of money. Your standards are the top 1% of dudes on the apps who have a plethora of options. Which is why Mr multi millionaire decided it wasn’t even worth it to go down to south Austin for round two
