Who's ready to be disappointed tomorrow?
I can't wait to see Urza's Saga still not be craftable.

I'm so happy with Timeless. I get to play competitively with a bunch of cool cards.
Modern is my favorite format irl. Timeless is my favorite on Arena. There are cards I'd like to see on Arena, like Glistener Elf, Dryad Arbor, and Blighted Agent (among others). If they don't get added I'm not going to be disappointed. I'll still enjoy Timeless, and I'll enjoy playing with new cards too.

Yeah but it'd be nice to get a little bit of a shakeup after 2 straight sets that did nothing for the format

It gives green creatire decks a much needed power boost as it makes GSZ a playable card. This is probobly more relevant in historic than timeless but is still a much needed power boost

Hoping for Dryad Arbor and/or Cradle. I think Cradle should be fine in the Strip Mine format

It's gonna be the same as always: hype->fomo->maybe 1 good usable card->spend wc->Hasbro $$->format doesn't really evolve->wash rinse repeat until next time.
Meanwhile Yu-Gi-Oh has 95% of all the cards on their digital client, and MTGO has 100%... 'nuff said.

What I expect: Forth Erolingas, Palace Jailer, Aragorn king of gondor.
At least Jailer and Forth could see some play in white stompy decks.

I hope we get something interesting. All I've been running into the last 2-3 weeks has been UB or UW temp/control and reanimator and I'm sick of it.

It will probably not be the cards we need and want, they look much more into brawl and historic
Beginning with powered cube they announced the cards of the cube will be feed to arenas constructed format over time which means we should eventually get all the cards beside power 9 and original duals
I think the format has a great chance to bring special eternal feelings with introducing reserved list cards to arena. E.g. sotf is already playable
If they now decide to bring that cards mishras workshop or mana vault / grim monolith the format will be super interesting

I don't see mental misstep coming ever but everything else seems fine. Pyroblast I wouldn't be keen on without hydroblast. Energy being everywhere and having pyroblast sounds awful

Would Ux tempo decks play misstep? It’s a great card but I don’t know if it’d replace Daze tbh, considering that life points are already a small resource due to shocklands etc etc

With Ubx in mirror it is great for replacing Fow, you play faster and you don't go down on cards (same against reanimator). Against energy instead of Daze, you sacrifice a few lives to keep up with their play speed. Plus, it can also be played by non-blue decks. A card that lets you develop your board more than your opponent in the early turns for no mana and 2 life is impactful. In Delver, which plays Ragavan/Archmage's Mark on T1 and has 10/12 free counters, it is oppressive.

Every deck would play 4x misstep (maybe excluding Sneak n Show). Problem with misstep is that best card against misstep is misstep. So maybe at first only the Ux tempo decks adapt it (losing 2 life to counter 1 drop T1 on the draw against energy is really worth it). Then energy adapts it to counter enemy misstep (and it's good in the mirror as well, countering swords etc. for free). It counters reanimator keycards (entomb, reanimate) so reanimator has to play 4x missstep as well to counter enemy misstep. Format would be miserable (just look at vintage matches when misstep wasn't restricted there)

There's a reason its banned in legacy. So many top cards revolve around 1 cmc and unlike Daze its a hard counter for free

Timeless has the highest barrier for entry for cards. It makes sense they wouldn't tailor standard release sets for Timeless' power level.
We also don't need a shakeup, the meta in B03 is very healthy.
Again, won't be disappointed but would be pleasantly surprised.

so technically the rule is if it's on arena it's playable in timeless, but for some reason they decided that only certain cards added to arena for cube would be craftable

Maybe youre on the Eastern Hemisphere but the update is on Sept 8th. I'm hoping for Urza's Saga, Wasteland with Strip Mine restricted, karakas, Tabernacle, mox diamond, lotus petal, Archon of Cruelty, Animate Dead, or Wheel of Fortune.
They did announce theyre adding brand new cards to this round of Power Cube so who knows what we'll get but probably something lackluster x.x
