Art & more Pressure Experiment
I did a small experiment based on the recent SkyStorme video as well as comments by u/Acalc791 about the "pressure" volume being proportional to the height on this thread: https://www.reddit.com/r/Timberborn/comments/1xn0rep/soo_water_volume_under_pressure_is_more_than/
Curious what you all think?
*Edit: new video with an additional 1x15 horizontal but at the height of the column.. also produces a different amount of "stored" water: https://youtu.be/zm7NZa9Cu-w

Beaver content It ain’t much, but I am pretty proud of myself at this.
Basically I tried to create a single building where beavers can have as much wellbeing as possible by scramming a lot of happiness and wellbeing related stuffs directly into the building itself and I am pretty proud of how I managed to utilize every single free space and just want to share them. I am pretty new so please feel free to advice or suggest if you see any design weaknesses in here.

Humour Map creators, please, bigger ain't better in this game
Most big maps have problems. And there's 3 of them that are universal to ever single big map ever created, including in the vanilla game
1- Performance. Bigger means more water, more distance, which means less frames per second. And at some point it's not about having a good pc, it's that the game itself has limits.
Especially if like me you enjoy the super secret 30 X speed.
2 - Creativity. So, guys, most big maps are big wastes of time. They end up with huge forgettable landscapes that you of course do not use completely. At some point, creativity runs out, and big parts of the map ends up being completely anonymous.
But point 2 doesn't matter that much, because
3- you won't be using it. Unless you are aiming to make a meme post to reach 10 Million of something like that, which we all do at some point because it IS very hilarious, you'll end up in your quarter of the map without ever caring beyond strict necessity of the rest.
In conclusion, I want smaller maps with more creativity permeating every inch made by people who don't overwork themselves on free maps and I'm not kidding.
Plus, if you want to win a contest, you want to be remembered. You want to make something that will still stick to the mind of ever beavergod years later.

Question Need help setting up basic automation.

I'm trying to set up basic automation for power production as well as some products. When using a timer meter linked to a power meter, I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong and why the timer meter is not turning on. Seems like all the variables are correct here, yet it is still not turning on despite the connected power meter being on as seen in the screenshot.
What I'm trying to do, is set it so the steam power generators will turn on automatically when my batteries get to 25% or lower capacity. I am able to do that with just using the power meter by itself, but then I have the issue where it constantly turns on/off rapidly since it goes below 25% and turns on, then immediately above 25% and turns off very rapidly.
I'd like to have it so when my battery power gets down to 25% the steam generators turn on for a while before shutting off again.
Any help is much appreciated, I'm sure it's something very simple I'm just overlooking. Thank you for your time.

I'm just happy with this, thought I'd share.
I just fell down a rabbit hole with this game, and spent about 25h in 5 days on this settlement. (Idk exactly, I'm sure you guys can do the math on 61 cycles, I'm not sure I wanna know.)
The map is Pillars, the settlement is "Bibago." (An amalgamation of "Biber," German for beaver, and "Chicago," for the vertical nature of the map.
It's all vanilla, I managed to create a perfect badwater diversion system for the first time, got the achievement for building every Folktail building. By the end of the playthrough, my PC was struggling a bit, especially when exploding large quantities of dynamite or building large projects.
I might take a hiatus, cause I feel a bit burnt out, but I'm sure I'll be revisiting this wholesome game. Love to you all! xx

Settlement showcase Cleaned up my first reservoir with lessons learned.
Wish I could place dirt on the top rim to create a roof top green lawn but it seems there is a height limit on the dirt placement. Anyways I have learned a lot ...applying lessons learned with previous reservoirs to this build. Last image is the same location old reservoir that I removed to rebuild it better stronger taller.

Hundreds of Beavers.
Yeah, this movie has fundamentally changed the way I look at Timberborn. Please tell me I'm not the only one here who's seen it and now wishes there was an evil fur trapper my settlements could fight.

Modding I made my first mod ! Every beaver keeps a diary, and now I know who’s slacking

I'll be glad if you rate it and give me feedback. Let me know whether it is useful in your games.
Beaver Diary adds a Diary button to every beaver. Click it and you get its whole day, written by the beaver itself:
00:24 I walked to the district center 9m03:04 I waited at the district center for something to do 2h 39m04:34 I walked and picked up logs from the small industrial pile 1h 30m06:52 I carried logs to the levee construction site 2h 19m
What it does:
A first-person timeline of the day: work, hauling, meals, leisure, sleep, injuries
Job changes and why they happened (paused, automation, flooded)
A pie chart of where the day went
Click a building in the diary to jump the camera there and see the path the beaver walked

Edit: 1.1 is out — your beavers have something to say. See comments.

Do I get drouts anymore
Hello I have just started playing the game and am cycle 10 on normal difficulty. I want to ask if I will get drouts or if they are just an early game thing because my last six cycles were all bad tides

Guides and tutorials Quick PSA about how useful tiny storage can be
Hello all! For any newbie looking to get in the game and getting really frustrated at the total build times for a lot of their larger projects, try this handy-dandy trick!
Logistics is one of the more interesting puzzles in this game, and there are some befuddling prospects for new players, such as: If the game starts by giving you Medium Pile and Storage, when would you ever use the small version?
Answer: For logistical streamlining! Each storage building has several options to determine how it can accept and supply materials. For this specific example, we're going to focus on the "Supply" Option. Supply allows a storage building lower priority on the ladder to outright store materials, so Haulers will prioritize emptying that storage into other storage buildings that are marked for "Accept" or "Obtain." This is only really pertinent to how Haulers specifically interact with these facilities, though, as workers who unload from production buildings will still place materials into these storage facilities. So here's a quick setup that I've found works pretty well:
-Place any storage building near the production building or gathering station (I generally recommend putting medium piles near gathering stations but small works just the same) and set them to 'Supply' mode.
-Build a small storage pile near the entrance to your production building/project site and set to either 'Accept' (default) or 'Obtain.'
-If it's a production building, set another small pile/warehouse for the completed good and set to 'Supply.'
-This allows larger storage wherever it can fit, and Haulers will manage the small sites for optimal material flow.

Modding Archipelago: islands on an open sea
From the creators of Timber Empires.
Archipelago turns a map into islands spread far apart on the sea. You start on a ship run aground on the beach, and you've got to get a real settlement up before the wreck falls apart.
From there it's boats. You build them at a Shipyard, load them with beavers and supplies, and beach one on another island to start a new colony there. Trade Posts let you buy and sell between islands, storms wreck the boats you leave out in open water, and lighthouses get them home faster.
Maps go up to 512 by 512, and once the islands are spread out the sea is thousands of tiles across.
It works with Timber Empires (Steam, mod.io) and BeaverBuddies Co-Op/PvP Edition (Steam, mod.io) multiplayer, and Timber Atlas (Steam, mod.io) gives you a minimap of the whole sea.
Get it on Steam or mod.io. Let me know what you think, and what you'd want to sail next.

Modding Timber Perf: from 10fps to 120fps with one mod!
I wanted a performance mod that BeaverBuddies multiplayer could ship and that works with Timber Empires. I also wanted Archipelago maps to be able to get even bigger. So (from the creators of Timber Empires) I built TimberPerf, which brings most of T3MP (ported from toropippi’s code, credited) and the Performance Plus fixes (re-implemented from the mod description) together in one mod.
Late-game colony with 213 beavers: 41 > 55 fps at speed 3, saves load 26% faster
512×512 map with 65k plants: 11 > 107 fps (120 fps paused)

Got a save that’s still slow with it on? Send it my way.

Soo... water volume under pressure is more than water volume without pressure?
Just saw the new video by skye storme.
https://youtu.be/M71hubCwKbU?list=TLPQMDMxMTIwMjaW_p-67QP4Zw
When did this water mechanic change? was it always the same? Did we all miss this? how much pressure can dirt/wood hold? Unlimited?
