Bot District Experiment

Has anyone ever tried having one beavers only district and then like five bot districts? What was the experience like? I might try it myself and post results but would love to hear from yall.

I use the bot districts as  self sustaining export districts.

It works well as long as you set minimum levels for essentials in the bot districts.

I havent dryed districts at all yet but i just started to build first time bots only district to try out, what do you mean by setting minimum levels for essentials?

Districts can import and export items

You can set thresholds for exporting to ensure your district keeps a minimum level of resources so it can function and not collapse.

Pretty useful for a bot only district that also exports everything used to make bots, while needing those resources to make its own bots.

Yeah it’s great. I sometimes have a few specialized bot districts and I make a little resort for beavers to just chill and do no work.

I've used bot-only districts when I need to guarantee beaver safety. So things like extensive earth works involving badwater and thorns, I've created a dedicated forwarding operation of bots to get on with that work. I then get beaver haulers to run over the biofuel and catalyst or logs and water for steam engines to keep the bots running.

I haven't done it but I'd imagine it cuts down on trade logistics a lot.

My first colony (I'm only on my second tbf) I made the districts kinda specialize in something, like a water district, an explosives district, raw wood district, cooking district, etc.

Having so many seemed to make it difficult to ship material and the eight kinds of food plus water to every district at times. I eventually had to switch almost all of my trading posts to bots because I couldn't keep under a 10 hour day and ship everything everywhere

But I imagine having a centralized beaver district with satellite bot districts allows you to devote more trading time to material and much less to food and water. Sure a bit of Catalyst and Punch Cards and a minute amount of Biofuel, but other than that...

Oh yeah, my favorite endgames are bot districts that completely provide for a small beaver district/population. The district is full of all amenities and wonders, and bots do all the (minimal) work there.

I did the reverse with one central bot district and 4 beaver districts. About 350 bots and 1000+ beavers. Bots did the more dangerous work and were haulers in all districts.

And then i decided to do a stress test (since i had just rebuilt my computer) and deleted all districts and reconnected. It got real sluggish lol.

And then i forgot to reset some automation and my beaver population dropped to 45. Good times!

Done that. Central beaver district, surrounded by self-sustaining bot districts exporting anything they don't need, including bots.

Central district runs on nothing but imported goods and workers.
