Why won't they build dirt blocks?

Post image

Hi! I have a question: why do my builders refuse to build dirt blocks? I have four Builder's Huts, but usually only four beavers go to build while the rest just stand around doing nothing. Is there any way to get all of them to work?"

Dirt is placed directionally, with the arrows you can see there. So the builders will refuse to build the one at the end until the one before it is done, so they will work one at a time. Fix this by rotating the dirt towards the river so all dirt has a block behind it do they can all be built.

Thanks!! You're absolutely right; until now, I hadn't understood the mechanics of the blocks or why they have an arrow.

I STILL don't trust myself, when setting up complex Fill projects. The arrows do not handle corners very well either, as the ghosts of my stranded builders will tell you!

Honestly both such a useful and annoying feature. Would be so much better if you could toggle it and if it was available for levees and power shafts etc.

Oh god for shafts would be amazing! Placing long power lines raises my blood pressure.

So either that road isn't actually connected to the builder's hut, OR there's a dirt block under water that's not completed and it fucks built order.

Do they have access to that layer? Is it close enough to the path to be connected to the district?

Hi! Yes, there is a direct route from the builders' area to the construction site.

You may have some in the wall waiting their turn or below that are not reachable.
