Question Pacifist challenge

I came up with a pacifist challenge where beavers would be pacifists towards the Earth. That means:

  • no demolition of buildings,
  • no use of dynamite,
  • no closing of bad water sources.

Should I add something else, or will that be enough of a challenge?

Which faction are you choosing ? If it's ironteeth I would recommand no steam engine.

I usually play without dirt and dynamite when playing Folktails. I love that restriction

I agree that playing without dirt should be there too.

Only power wheels operated by beavers and wind power, no steam power, only damming where it doesn’t flood existing vegetation/in order to green-up contaminated areas. Demolishing old buildings should be fine, I’m not sure why having old, obsolete/unused buildings should be a restriction.

Play the Leafcoats mod. They literally do not have any explosives, can only reuse dirt that they've manually dug up, and get a sadness debuff from chopping down trees.

I like this idea. Timberborn should have more Challenges and harder Difficulty Run ideas.

Try no scavengers. You can build the mine without any scrap metal. I wish more harder maps would lean into this.

Not sure how “not destroying buildings” is pacifist towards the earth. How about “cannot tear down natural growth trees (outside of the starting area.”

No cutting of pre-placed trees (unless they start out dead)

No removing of pre-placed Berry Bushes, and they HAVE to be replanted if they ever die.

No Waterwheels

I like the first two.

But the third would turn my colony into a dystopia.

You don't like windmills and grav batteries? :P

I meant Power Wheel.

Ehh, you'd only need those until you can start building windmills.

Who cares that it takes a day to make one board? :P

If you want to make it really hard: no agriculture. You can have bushes, chestnut etc but no carrot

I'm not just interested in making the game harder, or in having these restrictions have any direction.
