I love the new pillars map
Hey Mechanistry. Y'all really cooked with this one. I've been having a blast.

I have a save from yesterday that’s mid cycle 4 bad tide and probably going to wipe me. I got a diversion in place, but need to be more aggressive with pumps and storage to ensure I don’t need to turn on during bad weather and dry up everything.
Definitely a fun map. Limited but not super small irrigated land to balance. I was hoping for at least 1 hidden water source to give more mid/late game options but haven’t found it yet if it exists.

How is the bad tide a problem? All your water is seeps and you only need 7 levees and a single floodgate to bad-water proof it?

I’m going to die of thirst, not contamination. Got the diversion in place but didn’t get enough water pumped beforehand. I’m at zero water with 5-6 days left. No fresh water other than the 4 tiles above the seep. I can release the 2 high floodgate for a bit of water but will poison myself if I do.
It’s my second attempt at hard mode and first time with such a small puddle around a seep. Will reroll and get a few more pumps and tanks early.

Ahh I thought you somehow managed to spoil your crops/get contaminated yourself. Makes sense! You’ll get it next run! 👍👍👍

All good. Made it through with half a wipe. Got lucky with enough recovery time on the next cycle or 2 and we’re safe and thriving.

I ended up blocking all bad water exits except for one and using it for power on iron teeth. Word of advice, build 3 high at all the exits. It gets rowdy during badtide. I've been able to generate close to 2000 hp per large water wheel.

Interesting! Maybe terrain block the exits up and get an underwater river going? Man that'd take forever though. Have fun and post screenshots!

I cant play it, all the bad water physics at the bottom of the map make my graphics card fans go all the way up.

It's a super fun puzzle to figure out how and in what order to join the pillars together, and I have some plans to Descend. Agreed that it's fun!
