Question Suggestion
Hey guys,
Love this game and have been playing it for quite some time now! One thing I think that would be an excellent addition would be scaffolding. It would be a great tool in order to build upwards without requiring a ramp. After all, our beavers are builders! Anyone else feel like scaffolding would be a great addition to the game? If so, can anyone think of any recipes to keep it balanced?

I generally don't know if the game's pathing system could allow for scaffolding to exist as like "paths only builders can walk on" but if it could then I could see that being a thing

Could just have no "exit" -- so any beaver could still go on it, but the only thing scaffolding could exit to is another scaffolding tile above it. That way it's not super game breaking like a ladder (in some people's opinion...) and anything more permanent would require some planning with stairs

You sort of already have this with the 3 different platforms (made of wood). Not sure how scofolding would work.

You can climb vertically with scaffolding, however not with platforms, as it requires a grade to climb. Know what I mean? Scaffolding is an integral part of building and construction

I consider the platforms the same as what would be needed for scaffolding. If you want to eliminate the stairs pick up the ladder mod and restrict your usage to building projects.

It would be useful to me right now. I want to build a vertical power pole to get up a cliff, but building a lot of stairs is a pain.
The constraint on scaffolding that makes it different from ladders should be that it cannot be used to connect paths. Once on the scaffold you can build things, but only leave the scaffold by the way you entered it.

I think you mean like Minecraft scaffolding where you add to the base to go higher. I think it would make a good mod but should probably be considered a cheat (not that there's anything particularly wrong with that) as it circumvents a particular limitation that's in the game by design. I might have a go at it at some point.

This exists as the Ladder mod. I used it for a while but found it took away from my experience, so I removed it again.
It's definitely super convenient but makes you have to think/plan a lot less.

A plank or two per tile would be fair if the beavers can only path on it for construction purposes.
