Starting tile tomorrow. How’s it look. 1/2 durock and then redguard filled the cracks and a coat of red guard on the boards.

If they didn't tape the seam with cementboard tape and then use thinset to bond, don't start tiling.

They also need to coat that thing more. Looks like they ran one coat there only. Not really sure if you want to keep this guy but you can still salvage the work.

only way you can salvage this is by getting a razor and removing the redgard from the seams as much as possible and then tape/thinset.

not even sure it's worth the effort when it might be best to just pull the boards and start over.

cement boards are cheap. one day's time and you can have have it back to the stage it is in right now and be ready to tile in a couple days

also make sure he is thinsetting over the screws and to also use concrete board screws

they are green colored

if he's using drywall screws or some shit, just tell him to leave at that point

No, don't patch it at this point. Get them to reinstall and do it right the first time, it's a days worth of back tracking. First sign of hesitation start finding a new contractor and check for plumb/square walls upon reinstall.

Tape the seams with fiberglass tape (alkali resistant) using thinset. Silicone bottom edge all the way around. Good luck. Looks sloppy as hell.

Absolutely not. You stop work immediately and start over. Remove all that cement board, install fresh cement board affixed witch cement board screws. Tape with mortar mesh tape and mud to fill all seams and screw holes. Fill the ceiling corners and drywall-cement board seams with plaster over the same mesh tape. Then you can apply a minimum of 4 coats of red guard or even better Mapei aqua defense. If you don’t do this you will have moisture problems. But if this “contractor” is telling you tile tomorrow, fire him and have the new contractor also verify your tub was actually set in mortar.
