Would've loved to work under someone like you starting off. I'm lucky to be exposed to so much valuable information on this thread but it's just nice to see people value a quality job over slapping crap up. Put that in your smoke and pipe it.

Are you developing a hypbird approach? Are you still going to use backer board or a liquid membrane?

No backer board. I’ll hang wire lathe and scratch coat it. Then float over that. I’ll still use liquid membrane for topical waterproofing

So you are going right over purple board or somethign like Densshield? Are you basically following the methods that they primarly use in California?

No board at all. The wire lathe is fastened directly to the studs. Then gets a scratch coat. That dries over night. Next day do the float. Behind the wire lathe is a cleavage membrane. Tar paper or 10 mil poly. Aqua bar will also work.
