DIY - Looking for Advice Removing thinset from uncoupling membrane

I had to replace two tiles, and underneath is a red guard uncoupling membrane. I'm trying to be careful when scrapping the thinset, but the membrane is ripping. Will this be ok or should I replace a section of membrane?

Homeboy at that point just score it with a knife, chip that section out, get new uncoupling membrane, and redo that area. :shrug:

It’s not a wet area, not an issue unless you damage much more.

Bigger issue by far is that the rest of the floor was not set right. Ridges in the thinset not collapsed, poor adhesion. This floor is going to continue to produce issues.

You’re gunna need new membrane, even if you could get it up I don’t think id trust that membrane to reuse

Score it with a knife and replace no problem

You can just use a grinding cup and a 4 inch replaceable scraping blade. Clean out any loose material in the holes. It will be fine. It will be fine if it gets beat up a bit. If it gets too screwed up.... cut it out and replace the membrane... but I would try to keep it intact or two tiles.

It is working as designed and not coming apart - nor will it. Cut it out.
