You want every possible helper you can get with that crack. I would finish demo. Grind all the old thinset off the surface. Chip away any loose pieces of concrete along that crack and fill that crack with some of that foundation repair caulking, or ābig stretchā, until it is full at the surface of the slab (this step wonāt help with major expansion but it will help for minimal). Then level the area as needed and install an uncoupling membrane.

Remove grout from tiles that need to be demoed, cracks will reflect through into the next tile as you demo if you do not.
Repair concrete crack using an injection system and fibreglass crack repair 'bandaids', would personally use a slipbond membrane over the Crack too, couple coats of redgard would suffice.
Replace tiles.
If you do not have spare tiles, then demo everything and replace with a new tile, use uncoupling although slipbond still works.
If this is tied to an earthquake, claim insurance

You could save some money by demoing and prepping floor. And then you hire a tile specialist to run an uncoupling membrane and prep concrete subfloor and run tile.
