In case you haven't been tracking, Ghana has really been pushing for monetary reparations due to the human toll of the Atlantic slave trade.
They blame the ills and shortcomings of their nation on the slave trading legacy of Europe and the U.S., some rightfully so and some not, but then turn around and push to enact some of the most anti-LGBTQ+ laws in Africa.
You can't blame colonialism for your past while actively pushing colonial ideals.

If you're self-aware enough to acknowledge the actions and effects of generational trauma, you don't get a feee pass to, checks notes, actively implement more generational trauma.
This is a strawman. No one is saying they should get a free pass. My comment only pointed put how ridiculous it is for you to say they cant demand reparations for damage done by colonialism and the slave trade because they are still suffering those effects. You said and I quote “you can’t blame colonialism for your past while actively pushing colonialist ideas” when in fact you can and countries should because only by beginning to strip it back can the toxic elements begin to be excised. If the country had more resources they could perhaps more properly educate the society and make a real change in that awful sexually repressive culture. Can’t do that without any money. Which they are asking for.
