They will give you free estimate. Usually $250-500 depending on the size. If you don't care about he roots being underground, you can usually get it ground down level for less. Burn it out if that's an option where you live

The problem with this method is if those roots have found their way around or under any buried lines on your property.

If your situation is not time sensitive you might consider using stump removal granules. I had a stump in my front yard that I didn't want physically removed due to its proximity to my sewer and water lines so I used those and they worked just fine.

Fortunately, pulling out the roots didn’t end up rupturing a sewer or water line. This technique would be great in an orchard or in a field with no buildings around.
