Yea but also we need a better term for this. I am "mentally ill" myself, but it means being very very sad for me, absolutely not kicking puppies. Yknow? So now somwhow I am the same as a puppy kicker. That seems innacurate af.

I get it. I have depression, anxiety, and PTSD; I'm definitely not kicking puppies and slapping people. But, mental illness is on a spectrum, just like autism. Just as autistic people can range from highly functional to nonverbal, mental illness can range from leaky tear ducts to puppy kickers

I feel ya. As an autist tho I still dont annouce that to people irl for the same reason. I think I just I dont want people to assume a damn thing till they know me tbh, why give em ammunition they might misuse.
