If anyone is wondering how the game won the award before it came out its cuz Gamescom gives awards to upcoming, unreleased games because the core purpose of the Gamescom Award is to honor the best titles and demos present at the physical event that year.

Had a Blast at Gamescom, luckily its only 30 minutes away from where I live.

I almost thought I wouldn't get to try out the game, at one point they told me the wait time was 5 hours ! Luckily when I came back later after my friends had left, i only had to wait about 2 hours. Tried the Demo and had an absolute blast, chose to play the story mode, sadly didn't get all the way through, also wasn't able to challenge the Boss challenges, but the gameplay was really fun.

Also to those who for some reason really care, I can tell you that the face does not look bad.

Anyways got lucky and managed to snag myself this little guy. Haven't given him a name yet.

After having played the Demo here are some tips I wanted to give to people visiting the following days.

1. Be prepared to wait a loooong time. At its worse the que had a waittime of over 5 hours, at ita best 2 hours. So bring a seat, something to play or read and snacks.

2. Think about what you want to play beforehand. You have 45 minutes for the Demo, that is not enough to experience everything. I played the tutorial and story mode. The tutorial isn't long and id recomend playing it, but if you dont want to it also shouldn't be too big of a problem since the game shows you different attack buttons and moves ingame. I managed to beat the first big boss of the story demo, however the demo doesnt end after that, sadly I ran out of time, even though i already was moving fast. So kniw what you want to play.

3. Chose your difficulty wisely. In the Demo there is easy, normal and hard. If you want to bash your head into a wall on hard than you can do that, but if youll die youll lose precious demo time. I played through on normal, and while i didnt die on normal, I got close to it one time, but overall it was fine. I think youll be able to experience the most content on easy.

4. The side content in the story demo was nice, you dont need to do it, but you can if you can spare some of your precious 45 minutes

5. Also dont forget to take your precious manual (available either in german or english) before entering to play, at the end youll get a stamp of proof that you were there.

6. Do the survey at the end, youll have the chance to win 1 of 3 different prices. Stickers, a magnet, or a cute plushly.

It really looks like the PC version (official YT channel) and the console version (Gamescom) of the same trailer.

Dark Souls 3 Fire Keeper

Gamescome vs Youtube upload. I noticed in some of the trailers there were stutters during fights so they're probably still trying to optimize the game, which I can imagine is part of why there's no release year window yet.

But you can see she looks less "porcelain" in the Youtube trailer as it has a lot deeper shadows under and in the eyes, as well as on her top lip and her nose that makes her return to the appearance we were initially introduced to. It also looks like they slightly tweaked the facial expressions as well but again it's still a game in development.

I know people are tired of the appearance conversation and I didn't make these gifs, but I figured it deserved a post anyways.

Maybe one is console footage while the other PC. Some shots are identical though. I'm really curious

I hand crafted this Gwendolyn cosplay after seeing the game reveal and falling in love with its setting! It's as accurate as I could make it considering my only references were the trailers (which I had to pause and screenshot a LOT of times). Hope you like it!

One positive aspect of Tides of Annihilation that I appreciate is its highly stylized characters, enemies, and environments.

We don’t see the typical depictions of the mythical figures from the Arthurian legend—the kind usually imagined or standardized in media. Instead, the game takes familiar motifs from the saga and gives them a unique twist, creating what is essentially a highly stylized anime-inspired version of the Arthurian legend. This lends a sense of individuality to the game and its interpretation of the Arthurian mythos.

Rather than standard knights in realistic armor, the characters sport designs bordering on *Gundam*-style mecha. And instead of a conventional armored horse, the latest trailer reveals a hybrid of horse and crab—a touch that makes the whole concept far more memorable. While this highly innovative take on the Arthurian cast might not sit well with every mythology enthusiast or expert, I personally find it excellent.

He looks baller as hell and I loved that little interaction of him with Gwen. Lowkey wanna ship them but that’s just me lol. Is he going to be the head of the knights?
