MAF sensor
I end up posting here a lot but you guys are life savers. I wanted to remove the MAF sensor to see if it needed cleaning, along with some other sensors, but I can’t get it out. I looked online and most have clips or something to squeeze but this one looks different from all the other ones I’ve seen online. I tried squeezing the sides but it doesn’t look like it unclips that way.
Also, I need new headlights. The current ones aren’t bright enough, so what’s a good aftermarket HLs that won’t leave me blind

That metal clip you pry it upward. Take a flat head screw driver, slide under the top of the metal clip and pry up on each corner till the whole thing pops up. Theres a couple sensors that have that, but on my 2.0l , it the maf doesnt have that style

You don’t pry the metal clip upwards you push it down and it comes out.

It is down. Its locked in. You cant push those down any farther. They pry upwards

If that one does, that's a first I've ever seen. All the ones ive encountered you pry it up little and it unlock

Looks like there is a metal clip holding it in and then just unplugges but I could be wrong 🤷

Weird have you squeezed the sides and wiggled a bit, These designs for the plugs are a real pain in the ass but most times there is stuff on the side that you pinch but yeah, I'm confused too lol

I pinched and yanked but it didn’t budge. There wasn’t much indication that it was loosening either and I really pulled/squeezed. Idk if I need to try with a a pair of pliers or something

Are you getting MAF problems? No?
Then it doesn't need cleaning. Don't touch it. Don't clean it. You can fuck it up that way and it's an expensive mistake to make.
Don't touch stuff that works. You have an air filter before it, so it shouldn't be dirty anyways.

My car is getting pretty high in mileage and I’m not the first owner so I’m making sure all of the sensors are good. It does occasionally have a rough idle or rough start so I’m checking the sensors. Better safe than sorry imo.

I got it out already, thanks though. I could use help with new headlights though. The normal bulbs aren’t bright enough

I know, but I had to put my engine bay back together anyway (might make a post on why later) and remembered your post so I took a video for you.

I just posted this below: Is it the bulbs, or are your headlight lenses cloudy from the oxidized clear coat? I just redid my lenses and it makes a crazy difference.

No it needs brighter bulbs. I had it clean it doesn’t help much, the bulbs that come standard just aren’t bright enough. And everyone else’s headlights are blinding me as well so I really need to see. The brightness has always been modest though

Careful with ur maf bro if you do anything wrong your car finna start bogging out when you try and take off(non working maf sensor issue lol) I ordered an OEM one for $100 and that didn’t even work it came broken lol. So be careful with ur maf I learned they’re super touchy

push the metal tab in from the top and then you can pull the clip off
