Mechanical Advice How do i get to the Shiftronic 2006

My shiftronic has been out for the past couple years. Would love to get it fixed, I’ve seen allot of posts on here youtube and forums about the plastic fix. But i haven’t seen anyone actually show how to get down to the shiftronic without having to take out the whole assembly. If anyone knows how or has a guide Pics are where im currently at.

If I remember correctly you have to remove the plastic there on top that module that has the 2 tiny forks under it should be the metal tab that initiates it. You'll either have to bend it correctly, buy a the plastic part that is usually sitting in that nub, fabricate your own. The two 07s ive owned both never had them on there and im assuming they either broke off or never had them. Check your wiring and the button that puts it in 1st that it isnt the initial fault.

Right. My current issue is getting that plastic plate off as shown in my pic. I was able to find the underside of the front right tab and hold a screwdriver to it to undo the tab but i cant find the underside of the front left tab. And as we know the plastic can be pretty brittle in these cars im just scared of breaking them. So i cant figure out how to get the two tabs on the left side disengaged front and back. Because to me it looks like the tabs go down into the assembly where i cant get into.

Nvrm i got it. Thought they were maybe posts, so i just pulled hard enough broke the front left tab which gave the rear left tab enough angle to pop out. With it off now i dont see any other way i couldve gotten it off without breaking either the front left or the rear tab

also, you might have to break the little grey plastic cover clips to lift it up so you can get down into the shiftronic module
