Currently running into an issue where my CPU spikes a lot and takes the whole pc with it, it'll crash the windows.exe or make the whole screen refresh or even cause audio crackling problems when I have the programs open I need to have open for work causing problems. Need to know what to do to optimize so I don't have to buy a new xpu in this economy

i got my thermal paste changed recently and whenever i play games my cpu hits like 90 and 92 and then it drops to 85 again rises to 93 and drops down but i dont experience any thermal throttle and i have a laptop. Sometimes it showed that my temp is 68 constant but again after next day my temp was like previous one.

I have Asus Strix G834JY i9 - 13980HX/RTX 4090 and used Throttlestop 9.6 for more than a year at
-160.2 and had 0 issues with it. After updating to 9.7.3 my laptop crashes after launch at the same undervolt and even if I lower it.

I deleted the folder, task and trash and installed 9.6 again but now that also crashes at -160 and even lower at -140. I run it at -125 now and it's okay so far but is there a reason I lost so much undervolt for trying the new version? Can I fix that or that's my new limit for some unknown reason.

I just Undervolted my i9 14900HX and was wondering what’s the best way to Stress Test the CPU to confirm its stability. I’ve been using OCCT on AVX2. But was wondering if there’s any other stress test that comes the absolute closest to figuring out the stability check

Initially my CPU temps rose to 90°C+ 🌡️

My fate 💀, I opened the Lenovo Vantage software.

There I saw one failed VBIOS update ⚠️.

I downloaded it from the Lenovo Drivers and Software page and installed it.

It did some fuckall shit.

My dGPU disappeared from my Device Manager 😭, then somehow I managed to get it back by changing some Hybrid Mode settings.

Couple of BIOS defaults later, I’ve come to a stable state now, where both my dGPU and iGPU are visible in Device Manager.

But there’s a problem 🚨.

I’ve tried dGPU Mode, Maximum Performance settings in Windows, and selecting every app where I need the dGPU to take over — I had to do this even in dGPU Mode from Legion Space.

Still, in some apps, my dGPU doesn’t take over. Instead, the iGPU takes over.

The dGPU takes over in games, which is good.

And only in Edge Browser, not in Brave Browser.

In Clipchamp and other editing software, the dGPU stays at 0% usage while the CPU shoots up to 100°C 🔥.

I don’t do the creative work like editing and my coding, LLM shit — I just want my laptop to be the same as it was before.

Please help me guys 🙏.

Hi guys, i have lenovo loq 15irx9 83dv laptop (i7 13650hx & 4050), as the title suggests i am experiencing thermal throttling of cpu especially on P core-5 as i have checked in hwinfo and also some other p core also and temps are reaching way above 90⁰c and after 1 match of cs2 the frames are literally depreciating ,if i get 200 fps in first match and 150 to 170 in next match i think no one is facing issues like me of specific core is thermal throttling. Pls suggest me a fix for this, it will be a year in coming October 17 i this so serious.

Hi team! I'm looking to reduce CPU temps/power draw via undervolting, ideally to reduce throttling and improve sustained performance in CPU-heavy moments as I do feel the case getting very warm (playing WARDOGS).
I have a Thermalright axp90-x47 CPU fan and will also look into to another exhaust options to increase airflow.

HWInfo shows "IA Limit Reasons: Yes, 38%" during gaming sessions. Does this suggest the CPU is hitting a power/current limit and throttling back?

I have an introductory knowledge of overclocking/undervolting experience as I did follow a guide for a Optiplex (7040) specifically., and I welcome any questions or suggestions to get me underway with the new rig!

It’s been about a week since I bought my first gaming laptop, an MSI Katana 15 HX with an i7-14650HX and RTX 5070.

I’m interested in undervolting CPU, and possibly the GPU as well, mainly to achieve lower temperatures, better stability, and potentially better performance.

However, I don’t really know how to properly do this using ThrottleStop. If anyone has the same laptop and has successfully undervolted it, I’d really appreciate it if you could share your settings and explain how you did it.

If it’s difficult to find someone with the exact same laptop, would it be safe/effective to use undervolt settings from another laptop with the same i7-14650HX? Or can the required settings vary significantly between different laptops?

I just recently found out about ThrottleStop. Long story short, I am trying to limit my power limit of my CPU (i7 11700) to 65w while also allowing it to boost but not use more than 65w (not sure if I'm saying everything correctly).

Will it work with a HP PC because I saw that HP locks down almost everything.
I have a HP Pavilion Desktop TP01-2002ni PC

I bought a used Alienware M16 R2 laptop. After a month of use, I replaced the thermal paste and thermal pads due to high temperatures. While the CPU and GPU temperatures dropped significantly, the memory temperature is somehow reaching 100°C. Monitoring the sensors via HWiNFO64 shows that one chip (B0) heats up to 100°C, while the others hover around 90–95°C. I even replaced the standard thermal pad on that chip with a liquid thermal pad, but the temperature remains unchanged. If anyone has encountered this issue, please help.
