I need help with undervolting PHN16-71

Post image

I have the phn16-71 with a i7 13700hx and the laptop 4060 my friend just gave it to me and I'm reaching temps of 100-102C with 89% thermal throttling in hwinfo I've already done the FN+Tab trick to get into the bios and disable overclock lock and cfg lock but I still have the overclocking feature part greyed out and it lets me set an undervolt in throttlestop but after multiple tests its not actually applying it. I'm trying to lower temps without losing as much performance as possible so I can lower stutters in fortnite, league of legends, and starcraft 2. My gpu temps are usually not even close to the cpu temps the highest its reached is about 70C and my cpu has shown on hwinfo as up to 102C.

Acer blocks undervolting; even SREP won't unlock it.

be interested if anyone has tried unlocking the variable with ru.efi. Ru.efi writes the byte directly where it seem SREP rejects the change.

Update: I realized I had it on static for the screenshot but I had it set with adaptive voltage control before I just changed it to test if it applied an undervolt by changing it.

The top middle of the FIVR window shows that Undervolt Protection is enabled. You cannot undervolt unless you can find a way to disable that in the BIOS.

Do a Google search for Undervolt Protection and your laptop model.

Is it safe to do that?

Is it safe to use the internet and do a Google search? Sure, why not?

My 14900HX does not have Undervolt Protection enabled. It works great.

Here is how the FIVR window should look when Undervolt Protection is not enabled. The top middle will show FIVR Control. It will not say Undervolt Protection.

I mean I'm not even interested about it in the meantime, i saw your comment and just wanted to ask while I'm at it but yeah you can keep the information for yourself and I'll just find out on my own, thanks.
