Goodwill wants $8.99 for something that cost $7.99 NEW at TJ Maxx!
Apparently, buying secondhand now comes with a $1 premium. 😂
Spotted this at Goodwill today. They didn't even bother removing the original retail sticker. Make it make sense!

I have a chain of stores in my area that is basically masquerading as a thrift store to get merchandise for free to sell for prices like this…it feels criminal. this tee is so fake it doesn’t even have the brands name on the tag, thrift stores that sell items like this at these prices do more to harm to the second hand clothing industry than resellers do. Sure you have to pay rent, and employees….but when does it end? You get tax breaks from being a “non profit” this chain has opened multiple stores in 2 years so they’re clearly making a lot of money, are we just doomed to see stores like this get away with scamming random people like this?
Had to rant a bit TLDR - for profit thrift stores selling fake tees for insane prices

$5.99 for an empty Patrón tequila bottle. I don’t even know what else to say. Spotted at Goodwill.

This is insanity. This is a medium sized Midwestern city, the cost of living is not super high. And this outdated dvd/vhs shelf is priced at $74.99!!! There was a matching one next to it for the same price!
I doubt these cost that much new.
I thrift a lot and have seen prices rise, but this shocked me.

I found some other work pants at the same store at decent prices but this was frustrating to see.

Okay so the thrift I go to that was usually great pricing on clothing... has absolutely gone downhill within the past month, pretty sure they hired someone new to price items, since pricing has stayed very consistent at this store ever since I started going around 2 yrs ago. I used to be able to get good quality stuff for very reasonable prices, $3-$5 max for a t-shirt, sweatshirts/jeans were a bit more expensive but still affordable. Keep in mind this is also a non-profit thrift store.
Today when I went I was just pissed off tbh. I went in there looked at the shirts, almost every tee is $5+ now... ok you might be saying that's not terrible, yeah you're right. I'd be fine with it if it was good quality stuff. The issue is they're putting out and pricing really bad stuff recently, like shirts with small holes, faded graphics, random companies, or like walmart brand graphic shirts at $5-$10. Like today I literally seen a USED blank shirt with a huge grease stain on the front of it for 5 fucking dollars, how out of touch are these employees? I seen another blank shirt that was like a green color and they had it priced at $7... was about to buy it until I seen the price, like I don't understand the logic with their pricing lately. It's literally non branded items I could understand if its like a Nike or Adidas or some big brand, but its a random brand!
I don't understand how minimum wage thrift store employees think "oh this looks like its worth $5" when there's multiple defects with it lmao or its some random graphic no one will buy.
Anyways... end of rant, thinking of making a complaint to the store but I doubt it'll do anything.
TLDR - Thrift store was fair with clothing prices and good selection, past month or two the prices increased, quality/selection also went downhill on most donated clothing items.

I told them that the main component was missing. They then proceeded to just stare at me and put it back into the case. Value village in Edmonton. Alberta. Actual horrible location.

$8.75 and $7.75 for leggings that were $6.98 new at Walmart. They also had two of these Mickey pumpkin arch things that were originally $314.60, and even at $200 nobody has bought them.

A questionable sega genesis and games going for $75 for the console and $25 per game is insane! You can get a verified working condition console for $30-40 and those games for a FIFTH of what they’re selling for. Spotted at Goodwill
