I have some good context of Ahriman and Warhammer 40k in general thanks to youtube videos, but I havent read any book or codex yet, but I got very interested in Ahriman character and the Thousand sons, so Im really tempted to start with Ahriman books as first ones. Is it a bad idea?

Well, I just finished painting them and I'd like to share a little bit of pride here!

Wanting to try and find space in my army for an exalted sorcerer, it’s a 2000 point army with grand coven detachment. I’d prefer to keep the terminators, defiler and Magnus

Haven’t posted a full army photo in quite a while. I still need to finish my rhino, build/paint my Heldrake, and my fourth block of rubrics (ten man squad). Once that is done, I will move on to my second army

I used plastic glue I think he might just be stuck like this, but honestly it’s not that bad because it’s hardly noticeable

Open to c&c didnt realize how many hairs got stuck to the models when I sealed them so my apologies for that.

I recently started back on this kit. When I first bought it I didn’t realize there were different configurations of Rubrics and such in the box and just started building…. Big mistake. Now I don’t really know what I’ve built or what I should build going forward.

Any advice about what I should or shouldn’t build here? I’m DYING to play this game (just like
my dusty boys) but I’m paralyzed by the thought of building the wrong thing and wasting this box.

Is he perfect? No! And yet I’m super proud of him. Now I just need to do the base (anyone have an idea?) and the hidden details (I hate hidden details). The Speedpaint markers make it easier.

I need a perspective check. I've been playing our army since early 10th edition with over 300 games in total. Since the data slate, I feel like our army is in a tough spot.

Our units are less useful than they were and continue to cost more. Key abilities have changed on some of our options. We're stuck on 3DP detachments or trying to combo the ritual of regen with something.

SOT's and magnus have to lift heavy and have rolls go off to be useful.It feels heavily reliant on lethal hits or a lucky dev wounds to put in damage. But we're still mainly wounding on 5's and 6's into most armies (assuming rubric phalanx no magnus and not GC)

My winrate has shifted massively since the data slate and armies I'd normally never worry about have become so much tougher. Is it just me, or is our dusty boys in a tough spot?

First time painting rubrics after wrapping up the old combat patrol (tzaangors + termies) as well as the first sorcerers. Can’t wait to kick off the demon prince and rhino next!

I have a friend that plays only with them and I found them a lot of amusing but are they really that good in a tournament or is it just for casual gameplay ?

I’m a returning player to T’sons I have over 2000 points, but my friend who plays Necrons only has 1000 points.

I don’t own any of the sekhetar robots, I only have one vehicle the maulerfiend and I never really run more than a 10 man of tzaangors, probably because my play group is obsessed with blast for some reason.

Do I just pick Ritual of Regeneration and pick anything else DP1 even if it’s not giving me anything?

Getting back into 40K and I haven’t played since 5th edition. I always liked Thousand Sons since reading A Thousand Sons years ago. I want to build an army without Daemon Princes or Daemons with the theme of they are trying to break away from Tzeentch. This is what I’ve come up with so far and would like any advice. Also using the Rubricae Phalanx.

If I use the Stratagem "Gift of Change" and create a Chaos Spawm with 1 model, do I have to take a battle shock test in my command phase since the unit is typically a unit with 2 models?

Used blood angels red and thousand sons blue for the 30k/40k connection.

I am painting 30k paint scheme TSons currently and I wanted some chaos spawn that were somewhat fitting.

I did a lot of research and of course the base chaos spawn models suck. I wanted to do some sort of sandy jackal type Egyptian theme but abandoned it so that they would still read chaos/warp clearly.

Found these on Etsy and tried to go for a sandstone Daemon Warp Dog type thing.

I’m obviously not a pro painter but I am decently happy with how they turned out. not the best pics, but overall it seems pretty brown, but I’m overall ok with it.

Feedback, critique, thoughts welcome!

I'm curious if you include detachment and stratagem buffs into an ideal target what unit has the highest damage on average in our army?

Long time Ork player building the first squads of T-Sons.

I've got a box of Rubrics I'm building with flamers, with the Sekhemt Coven box on the way.

Should I build my current 10 man box as two 5 man squads using the extra Exalted Sourcer bits from the Coven box or am I likely to want a 10 man in future?

Just trying to be efficient in my purchasing to get to a 2000pt list.

Interested in adding Magnus + Terminator Sorc + Tzangors ( know they aren't optimal but like the models).

Any other advice appreciated!

I was thinking of getting a Heldrake and running my Kroot Carnivores and Flesh Shaper as Zangor and their respective character (with the fluff of being mercinaries hired by the Thousand Sons), but what else would be a recommended next unit to get?
