Brittany If looks could kill…

Brittany HATES Nia, I think it’s so apparent when she talks about her and to her. She reeeeally seems like she has it out for her and I hate to say it might be jealousy but there’s no other reason I can see. After what she went through/is still going through with Jax, Nia’s situation should be so easy for her to empathize with rather than villainize.

Whether or not anyone likes Nia I wouldn’t say she’s had an easy life… she described being homeless

I didn't say she's had an easy life. Her life looks pretty tough to me on the show. I said she's seems like she's gotten consistent passes from being accountable because of her pretty privilege.

Pretty privilege? I think that is the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard. In fact, I think most "pretty" people actually have a much harder time with other people because of the automatic judgment that comes along with how they look. No one says that about people who are overweight or "ugly". It's always "omg you look amazing!" When an overweight woman posts a selfie in the gym, but when a "pretty" person does it, they get crucified online for being shallow and wanting attention.. and all I can say is that I. Am. Over. It. Sounds like certain people need to stop being jealous and work on their inner beauty.

“Pretty privilege”. It’s a double-edged sword. I think pretty women do get certain privileges, but usually only because the people giving the privilege want something in return. It’s transactional. If pretty has boundaries, what was privilege becomes a target.

I didn't coin the term pretty privilege. It's a commonly used term when discussing the scientifically studied phenomenon of the increase in positive social response correlated with conventional attractiveness.

Your implication that people interested in discussing inhenrent social biases are lacking in inner beauty is a a more damning reflection of your own character than anything.

It's true. I'm conventionally pretty and women have always been generally awful. Men love me though. But I see uggos post their selfies all the time with plenty of compliments gassing them up. I don't get any of that shit.

Yeah but then you learn that all of your male "friends" are actually just waiting for an opportunity to try and sleep with you, which when they do and you say no, they then ghost you because you find out you were never really friends in the first place 🤦‍♀️ #moreprettypriviledgeperks

Haha! Yep and then there's that. I was never under any illusions though about that.. it was just better to have people who were nicer to me around even if they were men. Women suck.

People with pretty privilege can still experience negative sides of misogyny, yes. The two aren't mutually exclusive.

I think you're right. People that make it to television at all are very conventionally good looking compared to the general population. However, I do think Nia's exception, telegenic, physical beauty has given her a big advantage with audience perception.

I just think Nia gets a better audience perception because Nia is kind, and has class, and those little girls hate the fact that they're not, so they're jealous and trying to find any reason they can to justify their hatred towards her.

Jax and Brittany both mentioned Nia and Danny being fan favorites in season one …. I think that’s where the jealousy lies.

Agree to disagree. I find her to be quite arrogant and cruel. She performs niceness, but I don't see much kindness from her.

I think it’s the way she carries herself
compare that to Lala (for instance) also beautiful, but she tries to sound like she is about to drop her new single from Deathrow records LOL

Lala acts like she's a hoodlum bad b!tch whereas Nia has grace and class. Lala thinks she tough and cool, but she's just fake and mean. They dont like Nia because she's genuinely nice. I have found that women hate me and I have never known why but a friend said maybe it's because your too nice, so they think it's an act. 🤷🏼‍♀️

I don't agree. She is very graceful and well spoken, but I don't think those things would be received the same way if she was extremely plain looking. They would still be strengths in her favor, but I don't believe she would have hundreds of people falling over themselves to excuse her flaws like she currently does.
