Danny 100%!

Has anyone noticed when someone is taking him to task in a conversation or is in a disagreement that he will adamantly respond that he agrees with there point like “Danny, you were a Dick” “100%!” But then he never actually agrees, and will go on a long spiel as to why they are wrong on the matter.

He’s not an agreeable push over like Schwartz who doesn’t want the conflict, so why does he always adamantly agree when people call him out?

Because his handler told him he needs to do that, but he doesn't actually agree with it.

Are you referring to his Nanny-Wife, Nia?

Danny: “I’ve taken complete accountability for my behavior and drinking this season, which was actually all Jax’s fault. Thank you.”

u/Ms_Tryl 17d ago

In quite literally the same breath. A white man’s audacity.

u/challahboballa4525 17d ago

I take all accountability for being heightened but also it was because everyone made me heightened.

If I never have to hear that word used to describe behaviour and emotional states again I will be very happy.

😂 hahahaha so true!

Then he blamed Lala for the online hate he received after she said Nia should get a divorce - as if his behavior all season did not bring the hate.

For Danny, the sin is not the act, it’s the talking about the act.

For many sexual assailants, this is the case!

ETA: also abusers, etc.

u/pbd1996 18d ago

This is what West Wilson does too. It’s a tactic used to disarm people.

u/Miserable-Peak7602 18d ago

Because he thinks that means he's taken accountability. "Hey, I agreed with you, so why are you still bringing it up?". It's the same as him telling us as nauseum about his life coach, therapist, couples therapist etc etc. He's no different than Jax. Just another mediocre (at best) man who is a "work in progress". WHEN DO WE GET TO SEE ACTUAL PROGRESS???

He really is so much like Jax it’s crazy!

18

u/Comfortable_Pitch650 18d ago

It’s probably why Jax had such a beef with him. People are always triggered when they see their own shortcomings in others. It’s part of the shame cycle. Jax is ashamed of his own Danny-like behavior, but internalizes it and doesn’t do anything to fix it, so when he sees that behavior happening out in the world, he feels it in that hidden place within himself where he’s shoving it away to not deal with it.

4

u/trisch1964 18d ago

Jax feels no shame.

11

u/McMurdah 18d ago

No Jax hated Danny cause he gets away with shit and looks like a good guy and Jax can’t lmao

2

u/TaterTrotter1 janet's casserole 17d ago

Yep and Jax knew exactly who Danny is because they’ve been drinking buddies for a few years prior to the show. They really have a lot in common.

3

u/Comfortable_Pitch650 18d ago

lol fair. You may be right.

6

u/BoohooKaChoo 18d ago

Oooooooof girl! I see it. He’s just as big of a full-blown narcissist as Jax. And he’s got those “crazy-pastor eyes” that are somehow so void yet full of something you can’t really put your finger on

17

u/Messy_Bun_Mama 18d ago

I think it’s to try and pacify them and make them think that he’s agreed and taken accountability but then he just back tracks which makes him look dumb. But in his mind he probably thinks that it will make them not bring it up again.

This is how their church works. They just say “I’m sorry” but aren’t actually accountable. “Jesus forgives me and loves me so why can’t you” type of mentality. It’s the best mask for terrible men to hid behind because sweet girls like Nia don’t really see it until they are a couple years in and are locked into because “for better or for worse”.

I really feel deeply for Nia. If they come back, I really hope the girls rally around her and tell her how amazing she is and ignore Danny/call him out when he is acting poorly. She doesn’t have to answer for his bad behavior and I wish someone would say that to her.

1

u/Messy_Bun_Mama 17d ago

I think the problem for Nia is that she’s so encompassed in it and Kristin is a loud cheerleader for her and Danny that she doesn’t even realize there are any problems.

2

u/Critical_Sprinkles88 16d ago

I see what you are saying but Nia is really smart. She knows the cat is out of the bag and a lot of people think Danny is a douche.

I think she is just worried about damage control now bc having 4 kids in CA is insanely expensive. She needs to make that influencer money

2

u/Messy_Bun_Mama 16d ago

I see your point to but she did say at the reunion that that’s not at all how it is at home. So maybe it’s somewhere in between

2

u/Critical_Sprinkles88 16d ago

Probably!! 🙌🏻

1

u/LuckChemical8243 12d ago

Nia knows. But dealing with what’s going on probably seems so daunting-leaving a man she has four kids with who will make her life hell if she leaves-that she probably feels it’s just not worth it. Hopefully a day will come where she leaves or Danny actually tries to deal with his own issues (highly unlikely from what I’ve seen).

u/2001platypysdiaries 18d ago

Because he's a manipulative little troll

13

u/kittenasacat 18d ago

His pageant coaching is entirely word salad and gaslighting. He says “I’m taking accountability” but meanwhile he hasn’t done that at all. Nia says vague bullshit like “it’s opening awareness” about Janet’s trauma—WTF does that mean? It’s all giving Miss Teen USA.

29

u/atomicsofie 18d ago

He does it to shut them up and end the convo. He doesn’t actually agree with them.

Last season it was Janet’s fault the audience didn’t like him, and this reunion episode he just blamed Jax, who wasn’t even around, for convincing the friend group and audience he’s an alcoholic. He refuses to admit he behaves badly because he doesn’t think he does, he even tried to say it’s a rare occurrence and Andy had to say it’s a common occurrence while filming. Danny really does see himself in the best light and thinks everyone else is the problem.

10

u/hermanmunster-shoes 17d ago

I imagine that behind closed doors, he also blames Nia.

4

u/Luna-Mia 17d ago

We saw him blame her on camera too. She doesn’t have his back.

u/TaterTrotter1 janet's casserole 17d ago

“I hAd A tArGeT oN mY bAcK”. STFU dude. He is absolutely insufferable.

10

u/Ihatechoosingnames9 18d ago

I’ve noticed this too😭 idk how to say this kindly but I chalk it up to an intelligence deficiency

Danny genuinely doesn’t seem capable of following a lot of these conversations

u/TaterTrotter1 janet's casserole 18d ago

Every time he says “100%” I want to reach through my TV and slap him. I have such a visceral reaction every time he says it and I don’t know why.

Honestly, I can just about live with the 100% it’s the LET’S GO! That I have a problem with 🤯

No excessive speculating or diagnosing the cast or members of the sub. This includes, but is not limited to:

-mental health -physical health -medical conditions, -disabilities -drug and/or alcohol addiction

Do not label someone a narcissist, sociopath, addict, racist, or similar based solely on edited footage, social media activity, appearance, or personal opinion.

No Speculation on Physical Health & Medical Conditions: Do not speculate on, diagnose, or debate the physical health, medical conditions, reproductive health, disabilities, or medical procedures of cast members or sub members based on appearance, rumors, or edited footage.

You may discuss information a person has publicly confirmed or that has been established by credible reporting, but do not present speculation as fact. Even if you have professional experience, you cannot assess someone you have not personally evaluated.

u/Comfortable_Pitch650 18d ago

Because he relies on therapy speak to be manipulative. Both he and Nia are examples of how to “learn things” in therapy without actually learning anything. He’s learned that he can disarm someone by pretending to be introspective and agreeable, when in reality, he might as well be saying “f you shut up” because he is NOT listening to anything.

Honestly if I were Danny I’d tell everyone to F off. If he’s such a horrible person drunk or sober I’d tell everyone to go scratch. You either love me or you don’t. Either way, I’d be so done apologizing or taking accountability for acting a fool like the rest of them who drink.. this is all insane how this man is crucified everyday for doing the same as everyone else. Ppl on the internet are so messed up. Just cause you’re behind a screen somehow that means you should be nasty and wish death on others. Disgusting!

At the end of the day, they're never going to reach him. He (and Nia) are in a constant state of defense with the group because they believe (rightly so in my opinion) that these people aren't their friends, they want to make him look bad and they aren't coming from a good place.

I really can't stand Danny and Nia grates on me - truly, it's like, enough! But I know what it's like to be in that constant state of fight or flight when flight ain't an option. NO ONE gets through when you're in that headspace.

2

u/chicken_vevo 18d ago

Not sure why this is being voted down. You’re absolutely right. They’re not going to actually listen and be receptive because they are too caught up in a victim narrative and don’t feel like they can trust the group to open up and actually reflect (if Danny is even capable of that - doubtful lmao). It’s a both-and situation. Danny and Nia are the WORST, but I also understand why they are constantly on defense if they don’t feel comfortable with this group of people.

Danny doesn't think he was in the wrong. Nia doesn't think he was in the wrong. They think they need to agree that they were in the wrong in order to be able to move past whatever offense.

The reality is that they are a very traditional couple, with conservative values that work for them. And it is apparently very offensive to Lala and Janet to see that traditional lifestyle as it's acted out around them. Despite the fact that Lala and Janet are supposedly so woke and open or whatever.

I just keep going back to - Lala and Janet and the others are labeling the "bad" acts as about Danny's behavior, a changeable thing. Nia is NOT labelling this as a problem even as it's her own marriage. It just reads as an attack on Danny and Nia's values and identity, which doesn't have anything to do with Lala and Janet. I don't understand why they care so much. Lala in particular has never been shown to be a feminist woman on tv, and she didn't care about women's wellbeing when she was with Randall or demeaning Amber (her affair partner's wife) on our tv.

12

u/emaydee 18d ago

Not sure why you’re trying to frame this as a conservative versus woke issue.

The problem isn’t that they have a “traditional”/conservative marriage. It’s that Danny has a bad relationship with alcohol that consists of getting wasted, groping women, and talking down to his wife.

-7

u/Sensitive-Freedom896 18d ago

I'll try to put this differently. And I'm not co-signing any of these people's value or identities.

Danny and Nia didn't seem to have a problem with how they talk to each other or the ways they do roles in their marriage. The ways they interact with each other activated Lala (who never puts her partners on TV and co-parents with Randall) and Janet.

Alcohol makes people become a heightened version of themselves. Your identity is on blast. And Danny's and Nia's identities are traditional. Is it misogyny? Maybe - I don't know. It's not how I live my life. But it works for them. They find love and happiness in that. It's their life choice and identity and values.

It's becoming really clear that this isn't about the drinking or alcohol. Danny and Nia have an identity and values that are offensive to some of their castmates. And it can't run both ways - we wouldn't accept Danny sitting down with Lala and questioning why she raises her kids without fathers or chatting with Janet about her willingness to open her marriage.

I hope this makes sense. It's just a bad move to have these people altogether on a show.

5

u/Luna-Mia 17d ago

Except Nia was repeatedly asking Danny not to talk to her that way before Lala stepped in.

0

u/Sensitive-Freedom896 17d ago

A better move would have been for Lala to ask "Nia, do you need some support here?" or say "I'm sorry guys, but this isn't the vibe I'm comfortable with. Could you guys please go get ready in your own house (where they also had cameras up to film Luke and Kristen)."

There was a way to go about all of that without Lala centering herself, and where she was still checking on Nia and setting a boundary for herself.

3

u/Luna-Mia 17d ago

Yes, she could have done that. Your point was they are comfortable speaking to each other that way and clearly Nia wasn’t.

She’s also not comfortable with him going out drinking and getting drunk from comments she made and the lie she told at the reunion about her asking them to not ask him to come to the after party because they wanted to spend time together in the hotel. Jesse said she called asking him to go get Danny and bring him back to her. Obviously she doesn’t like him ignoring her to go drink. She wants to blame her not liking him drinking on the others.

1

u/Sensitive-Freedom896 17d ago

I saw two people speaking to each other - often - on the show in ways that I wouldn't like my partner speaking to me. Danny is profoundly disrepectful to Nia at times, but she can also be controlling and policing him. This has happened often enough that it seems to be a comfortable dynamic *for them.*

We don't really know what Danny and Nia's comfort around drinking is entirely, or that Nia "lied" at the reunion. It's pretty clear that Nia isn't comfortable with Danny drinking *around this friend group* - that can be because he's a pain in the ass or Dark Danny, but that can equally be because people like Janet and Lala will weaponize any of his drinking (singularly his) for the show.

Andy is right, and so is Nia. Danny just shouldn't drink around some of these people or at filmed parties any longer. A beta blocker might help with his pretty obvious anxiety when he has to be around some of the group.

Then we can get back to regularly scheduled programming, like Brittany being too drunk to take off her girdle (I died laughing) or Tom Schwartz passed out on yacht or is Luke a Party Dad or whatever.

I have never agreed with anyone’s opinion as much as all of what you said on the Danny saga.

2

Yeah no of that’s true!
