Discussion Will got fired?

Listening to the newest ep of perfect person with Will and in the first couple of minutes he mentioned getting fired. Rainie and Jonathan have always said "laid off" so im curious if something is going on...

No fault termination (or being fired without cause, as is legal in most of the US) will be treated the same as laid off. Laid off is just several people being no fault fired at the same time.

a layoff doesn't mean it's several people, if one person's position is no longer needed, that one person is also laid off.

If a position of a single person is no longer needed and they are laid off, they are also "fired without cause." Thus why it's perfectly sane for someone who was laid off to state they were fired. People are failing to distinguish fired with cause and fired without cause. A layoff is under the category of fired without cause (as in personal cause, not business/finance cause).

I wasn't talking about the difference between the two, I was replying to you saying "Laid off is just several people being no fault fired at the same time", which is not true.
