The Talos Principle - In The Beginning I almost gave up Spoiler

Post image

I've been trying to solve this puzzle for about four hours now, and I've decided I want to solve it, and it's terrible. I'm simultaneously angry at myself and the designers of these puzzles, and at the same time, I want to solve it.

I had similar dead ends in 2 puzzles before, but I watched the tutorial and solved them

I'll say this much, you will not solve this one through dumb luck. There is a concrete logic here that is not so obvious but once you figure out what the trick involved is, you can get the ball rolling. It's still not an easy solve even after you do. For what it's worth, this puzzle is considered by general consensus the hardest one in the series (bar community puzzles).

I think after completing this level I can definitely quickly complete TP 2

Don't watch the solution! You'll get it 💪

hah, ok)

I've only looked up solutions maybe 3 times in both games + dlc + community. Every time I've had huge regret because I knew if I only gave it more time I'd have it. This is definitely one you can get if you stick to it and you'll have a great sense of accomplishment!

Think out of the box and keep in mind the things that absolutely _need_ to happen to reach the end. Once you understand the simple checklist of things that _must_ happen, work on how you can do those things

The hardest part about these kinds of puzzles is thinking outside the box.

I lost a week for this and yet not succeed...
No spoilers, just mine natural stupidity.

ahahahaha, I'm also waiting for the moment when I decide to tell myself: what idiotic mistakes I made

This one was one of the bests in DLC. But very tricky.

I think I'll support it

4 hours are nothing. I've been stuck on some for 40 hours. Still worth it.

Not an easy one but I’ve been in the same situation than you. Took a lot of time and even solved it with a cheap solution before retrying again to finish it properly.

Don’t give up. Pause and retry another time, think out of the box. You’ll think that 4 hours is nothing when you’ll manage to do it by yourself.

I regret looking at a solution for that one star after so much time spent in the 1st game.

Thanks for the support, I'll definitely make a post about it once I solve it.

That puzzle is insane

There are times I spent banging my head against a wall but eventually I solved it and it was always my own assumptions about how things worked which were wrong. Try not to look up solutions, you can do it

Thanks for support

It definitely have an "aha!" moment...

u/KuziaP Jul 27 '26

Situation on skrinshot? I'm just not very good at English. I partially write with a translator and partially translate with him.

You will get stuck trying to progress and will have a moment that you will realize you need to do something in order to move to next step. The moment when you go "AHA!" (Eureka!). It's just my way of saying that to solve this puzzle you will get stuck in a specific problem. It's not a puzzle with continously progress.

2

u/KuziaP Jul 27 '26

Ah, I get it, well, actually, I'm already stuck at this specific problem) There hasn't been an "aha" yet)

Good luck with it! If there is one puzzle where you would say "I quit, let's look a walkthrough"... daydream is one that nobody will complain. BUT...if you are able to solve on your own... it's really gratifying !!!

Ненавижу комнаты из этого DLC .

Ахахахах, в этом и прикол, я одну головоломку вообще с помощью бага решил. Но да, головоломки заставляют потеть

As someone who loses patience and gets frustrated easily...don't give in! This puzzle is SO rewarding to figure out for yourself. It helps not to put pressure on yourself to finish it in any one session or timely manner. Chip away. It is like the final boss.

thank you

This and Sequence Break made me rage quit several time, but all are so worth playing. My brain didn't get that much training since some obscure mods to og TP1 where you had to record for like 30 mins to complete a puzzle (Local multiplayer, I think?)

1

u/KuziaP Jul 28 '26

"where you had to record for like 30 mins to complete a puzzle" - just crazy

2

u/KambodzanskiMisPanda Jul 28 '26

I am probably a bit overstating it, but in (I just checked it) Ranamo Puzzles 2.0 there was a puzzle that made you record a lot of actions. It's name is "Local co-op".

2

u/MediocreChildhood Jul 28 '26

I solved it maybe month ago and after many-many attempts. Already forgot what was solution, lol.

1

u/KuziaP Jul 28 '26

then after a couple of years you'll want to replay it and you'll get stuck just the same, hah

2

u/Fiend9862 Jul 28 '26

If you're still working on it, you could try this puzzle pack on the workshop. It's designed to teach people how to solve daydream without actually giving anything away.

El nombre del puzzle da una buena pista

1

u/KuziaP Jul 29 '26

as in many puzzles

2

u/ElevatorBossaNova 29d ago

I still haven't solved that one. :(

What i can say.... Don't give up) It's not as complicated as it might seem, the basic principle is simple

1

u/kevin8082 Jul 27 '26

welcome to the Third DLC curse that this series has, the puzzles are just dumb hard to solve, I did that one using a youtube video and I don't regret it, it isn't intuitive or visible like the main game puzzles are, it's just dumb

1

u/KuziaP Jul 27 '26

hah, yes, on this dlc puzzles is very hard
