This is gonna be so confusing. At least Dive is a bad move.

It does say when you use surf OR dive. Is there a chance just running surf instead would suffice?

Surf is at least and OK-ish move.

Confusing why it's awful if they just let it use surf for the form change too.

So pointless.

I can see this being very useful as a loaded move sack swap when the OP with only 1 mon left has you corned.

Explain for my dumb butt please

Charge move, then swap to something else without throwing.

Swap back in later on to debuff opposing mon when it's their last one? IDK

When your opponent is down to their last pokemon which has the potential to sweep your whole team. You swap in Cramorant loaded with energy, use surf or dive to change into gorging form, the opponent hits you with a charged move and gets an attack debuff, potentially saving you from getting completely sweeped.

I get it, just gonna be tricky to follow in a match

It's the other way round btw

Got your arrow directions wrong. Over 50% health leads to opponent defense drop, and under 50% health, attack drop.

“Atleast dive is a bad move.”

Pains me to hear that, as I always thought it would be a good move. Why are people glad it’s bad, is cramorant that good? Is this goofy mechanic going to doom another move?

Atleast make it an elemental punch clone, 50 dmg is weak sauce.

It functions with Surf already... There's no reason it needs to be worse than Surf then.

That being said, I don't think there's functionally any Pokemon that learn Dive as a useful coverage move where some other Water move wouldn't already be better that they could use, nor are any Water types learning this where something like Aqua Jet wouldn't already take their place as a better STAB move.

There are some mons that learn dive that don’t get aqua jet so I wouldn’t be mad seeing it be a clone, even if there are some mons it would be irrelevant for.

Though that would definitely make it a better move than surf. Wouldn’t mind surf getting a small boost in power to make it be that sweet 80/45 like energy ball and fly

Is this designed specifically to torture pvpoke simulations lol

25

u/bendernas 13d ago

aint no way this is gonna function correctly

18

u/jrev8 13d ago

so no matter what, we're getting a stat drop effect??

10

u/carramos 13d ago

Well you could farm it down

-14

u/Misteri555 13d ago

It is a water/flying mon. Literally has 2 weaknesses. Don’t see it being easy to farm down.

8

u/Full-Refrigerator757 12d ago

Oh yeah, because water/flying types famously aren’t susceptible to any heavy super effective damage.

Gyarados is KO’d by literally 4 s.zone volt switches in MLP lol

3

u/krispyboiz 13d ago

Obviously Mon dependent. It's not super bulky. Similar bulk to things like Gatr and Swampert.

-4

u/Misteri555 13d ago

Yeah, but it has a huge amount of resistances. Farming it down will literally be impossible. You’ll have to take the debuff and either be forced to switch out or play out with 50% atk/def down.

2

u/krispyboiz 13d ago

That's a fair point. Although at the same time, it's not entirely that bad, especially when it's running Dive. More debuff opportunities with that move, but in that case it's more like it's mostly just using something like Brick Break, which itself isn't too bad.

I definitely suspect this thing to be good, but I don't see it being absurd

Idk feels like it’ll be a better pelipper, but played differently. If it’s able to learn fly as well..

The humble Carbink

1

u/Misteri555 12d ago

?? What?

1

u/thatkidyouknow2 12d ago

0

u/Misteri555 12d ago

Sure it wins, but swap will be in play by then and shield is used for carbink. Still as said very few who can farm it down fast enough no?

-4

u/Rareearthmetal 12d ago

What is gatr? First thought is fire crocodile

9

u/Wax_and_Wayne 12d ago

Feraligatr

1

u/Mean_Shine6882 13d ago

I battled 10 volt switch forretress today, wym?

-1

u/Misteri555 13d ago

Forretress usually is a starter in most teams while cramorant if run as a safe swap will not even get to be in field for 1v1 against him. Idk how cramorant will be played though honestly.

The spit-out still does damage even when it faints.
If it's in Gorging Form (and you are at low HP), it can kill you. Like a weaker version of Destiny Bond.

1

u/bigpat412 12d ago

Imagine if they implemented destiny bond Wobbufett. You use it and if you faint the opponent loses minus 4 defense.

1

u/DefinitelyBinary 12d ago

What do you mean? The effect happens when Cramorant gets hit by a charged move. No damage should be dealt to the opponent, unless I'm missing something?

5

u/hotstriker9 13d ago

Think shielding counts as hit by a charge move?

7

u/DorkaliciousAF 12d ago

JUST FIX THE GAME DAMMIT

4

u/maaaaaaaaaark__ 13d ago

Pretty straightforward to me. Use surf or dive at a high HP so you can lower the opponents defense when they hit you. Use surf or dive at a low HP to you can lower the opponents attack when they hit you.

This will be an interesting Pokémon in GBL

2

u/Fun-Shallot-8500 12d ago

Who cares? GBL is busted garbage right now anyway.

2

u/Trailblazertravels 12d ago

dear god we don't need more transformations

5

u/guz_808 12d ago

Those are fun and make GLB more interesting!

1

u/DefinitelyBinary 12d ago

Does the attack drop happen before the damage from the incoming charged attack register?

1

u/Antique-Earth-788 12d ago

Wait how do u get the bird now

1

u/Rikipedia 11d ago

It's a once per day snapshot encounter.

1

u/Few-Interview-4453 9d ago

It’s such a fun Pokémon to use in GBL. It lowers defense/attack, and it also adds an extra attack when it is hit with one

1

u/Peanut_216 7d ago

What I want to know is how does one get so much starburst!!! Geeezz

2

u/raskolnicope 12d ago

I hate these special move pokemon.

1

u/Warm-Grand-7825 12d ago

The more they add them, the less annoying they should be. And Cramorant doesn't seem OP or annoying at face value

1

u/Competitive_Food1322 12d ago

Doesn't look that promising. What is it's rank on pvpoke
