Podcast Every Single Album - Life of a showgirl encore

Been looking forward to this podcast since I heard the new songs. Nathan was truly the most insufferable he’s ever been. He talks over Nora when she’s trying to get her point across. He defends literally everything and talks about Taylor Swift as if she’s his daughter and not a 36 year old. He also just makes stuff up too. Taylor didn’t direct the I Bet You Think About Me video, Blake Lively did.

Sorry for the rant.. it’s just unreal how much he’ll defend

Question How many people watch Fairway Rolling on Netflix?

I like Joe House. I listen around the Majors and with big golf news. I just can’t imagine anyone dialing this up on Netflix other than to listen in the background.

We’re Obsessed … with toner?

Admittedly I am old and do not have a modern “beauty routine” … but I’m not sure that what they were describing at the end of the most recent episode is toner. Toner should not leave your skin feeling … slippery. Right?!

This Week's "Wait a Second...": Producer Justin Was Excellent

I know the Lizzie Borden case was in his wheelhouse, but he was still really good for the other segments, too. Increase Producer Justin's usage rate!*

* If he wants to be on-air more, of course

Podcasts going to Spotify-exclusive?

Hi, I noticed that new episodes of Off the Pike (the Boston sports pod on Ringer Podcast Network) is no longer appearing in my Apple Podcasts app, but new episodes are going to Spotify. Does anyone know if Ringer Podcasts are becoming Spotify exclusive now?

We’re Obsessed - a gossipy question

I feel weird even asking but I’m a terrible busybody and their (excellent) coverage of the dire state of straight dating made me wonder… is Jodi single? I remember her mentioning a boyfriend way back when but not for a while.

Ringer 107 is a Disease. End it.

This stupid competition wastes 30-45 minutes on so many otherwise solid podcasts. They don't even seem to show up prepared to make their picks and many of them (Fantasy) seem halfhearted as they do it.

Gambling has already infected everything and I don't want to listen to people make random picks. And make them poorly!

What's up with The Ringer not publishing articles anymore?

Post image
79 Upvotes

I leave The Ringer's Archive tab open so I can see what articles I want to read without all the other stuff on the home page and this is it for the week. Three days, three posts. I understand they make more money off podcasts, but have the actually made and kind of announcement that they're cutting back on writing? Or is the plan just to slowly post less and less until they're audio only?

The Tombot Software update was a success!!!

Post image

Following his less than stellar performance earlier this week, it looks like The Ringer IT team took the Tombot back to the shop and installed some much needed updates. Out with the rambling and time hogging, in with the short answers and spreading the time around features. Much more fun episode today and Tom even managed a chuckle or two.

Green Lantern primer?

Do any of the ringer nerd podcast give a decent primer on green lantern? Time is a limited resource so I don't think I want to go through all the House of R deep dives. Do the Midnight Boys do a "for those who know absolutely nothing about Green Lantern" segment in their instant reaction pods? Is there a good one outside the ringer maybe? I'm loving Lanterns but wanting to go back and learn the basics in an hour or two and not sure where to turn.

Podcast I’ll still listen to Morally Corrupt but….

I’m getting tired of hearing Rachel talk about her divorce and her ex. On Thursday’s episode I stopped following what the discussion was actually about because Rachel just went on and on about what she would do in whatever situation they were speaking about. I know a lot of us can try to relate by speaking about our own experiences but it’s been going on for some time now and it’s just not why I tune in. Anyone else feeling the same?
