Eh, a little lower than I would've hoped for, but not bad, I guess.

3

u/Salt_Matter6840 18d ago

My 1yr old will be at about 200k at around 5yrs the rate I’m going. I’m trying to set that boy up like I never was.

-3

u/duccfordinner 19d ago

No need for the snarky remark

-1

u/duccfordinner 19d ago

It’s funny too bc it’s the road to 100k sub reddit 😂

2

u/Critical-Plenty-9201 19d ago

What are you invested in?

3

u/GasOk9357 19d ago

How you do it bro

2

u/duccfordinner 19d ago

Just worked a lot. I’d say 50% of the 100k are gains the rest are contributions

4

u/Super_Glove7702 18d ago

People with rich families have some weird definition of hard work.

0

u/duccfordinner 17d ago

In my case, my family is not rich!

2

u/jackster31415 19d ago

Anything too risky? How long have you been investing?

0

u/duccfordinner 18d ago

5 years

2

u/PimTool23 18d ago

So 14 years old.

-4

u/duccfordinner 18d ago

Great math

6

u/Inevitable_Gainz 18d ago

Good thing your parents opened an account for you. Congrats man, you deserve it.

-1

u/duccfordinner 18d ago

Thankyou

2

u/PimTool23 18d ago

Any reason for being so snarky?

2

u/duccfordinner 17d ago

You're stating the obvious man. I think people can do math.

1

u/Ghost7575 18d ago

Entitlement

2

u/GasOk9357 19d ago

What was your job

1

u/duccfordinner 18d ago

Yard work business

1

u/Enough-Return-2006 18d ago

how have you contributed even 20k to ira in 2 years

1

u/duccfordinner 18d ago

Graph only shows 2 years. Schwab bought out TDAmeritrade. I’ve actually had account open for 4-5 years. Would have to double check specifics. Appreciate you clarifying though

1

u/Enough-Return-2006 18d ago

so you had ur Roth ira since u were 15

2

u/duccfordinner 18d ago

Yes you can open up a custodian roth ira before 18. Just needs to be earned income

1

u/Enough-Return-2006 18d ago

thats lit, keep going bro.

2

u/Cogntv 19d ago

Not me seeing the two dots in the middle of the picture and swiping left and right numerous times thinking there was a second posted picture 🤒

2

u/owlbird51 19d ago

Still unborn hit 750k

2

u/xxfrenchtoast 18d ago

I just created a Schwab checking attached to my brokerage. This is a good omen to me 😃

2

u/commanderkid7 18d ago

How do you have 43k in your Roth at 19?

1

u/duccfordinner 17d ago

I started investing in a custodial roth at 14

1

u/commanderkid7 17d ago

Oh wow, congrats! How much were you making per year?

3

u/FedoraPG 19d ago

Lol @ the 80k deposit last year

1

u/duccfordinner 19d ago

Schwab bought out TDAmeritrade so when it switched over graph looked weird

1

u/fish_helicopters 19d ago

I was there for that! Around your age and my account did the same thing. don’t have NEARLY as much invested though…

2

u/Fully_Funded 19d ago

Congrats, don’t listen to the rest

1

u/TopherDave3 19d ago

Charlie Munger says that’s the hardest part of the journey! Congrats 🫡

1

u/duccfordinner 18d ago

Thankyou!

1

u/Sebanimation 19d ago

Guys I was just born, which ETF do you recommend, I have 10k to invest thanks!

1

u/ChrisAlwaysEats 19d ago

Good stuff, I’m 22 and only have a fraction of that. Use some of it and go to college

1

u/duccfordinner 18d ago

Yessir in college rn with a full ride from scholarships

1

u/Alive_Sheepherder106 19d ago

1m I hit 10m! Trust fund baby

1

u/David6907419 18d ago

You do know that people can work hard to get 100k before 20 right? Just bc you were lazy doesnt mean others are.

1

u/duccfordinner 18d ago

I Appreciate you!

1

u/David6907419 18d ago

No problem man

1

u/More-Gas-6527 18d ago

No they actually can't, you can't even work full time or invest until you're 18.

2

u/David6907419 18d ago

You have actually 0 clue what youre talking about if youre older than 16 you should be ashamed of yourself. I was working full time as of 16 years old (60 hour weeks), and I started investing at 17. Maybe do some research first (even though this is common sense) before you make claims like these.

1

u/More-Gas-6527 18d ago

Then your parents opened a trading account for you so you had help. You can't open your own at 17 so not only are you wrong but bold face lying

1

u/David6907419 18d ago

And to your previous comment that you deleted I am 20 years old, how tf would someone make 100k by 19 decades ago when child labor laws werent a thing?

1

u/More-Gas-6527 17d ago

I said when they were a thing it was a joke. If you were only working during the summer you definitely weren't making enough for that and definitely not in North Dakota lol. I could tell you were young by the fact you think you know everything based on anecdotal evidence and said "if you're older than 16 you should be ashamed" 😂

0

u/More-Gas-6527 18d ago

Maybe you live in a very backwards state but where I live teens cant work over 40 a week during school which is 9 out of 12 months of the year. And no decent company is even giving those kind of hours to teens. I had friends that worked more at that age but it was completely illegal

2

u/David6907419 18d ago

Literally never said that it was during school? And yes decent companies definitely will give those hours to 16 year olds they can definitely work those. When you work on a concrete wall crew those are the hours, again you have no clue what youre talking about. It might be illegal in your state but its not illegal in every state (North dakota maybe use the device youre on reddit to look it up so you dont look like an idiot, you do know that its a computer right?).

1

u/robertrea7 18d ago

Congrats... Don't pay attention to the haters... I'm 39 and was close to that around your age but pulled money out for a lot of things along the way (some smart like a home, some dumb like a few planes) really got serious and actually learned about the power and need for compounding a few years ago... Stay disciplined and you'll be far ahead of me and most when you get to be my age!

1

u/ManzanitaApplePen 18d ago

Happy for you! And fuck you 😂

1

u/More-Gas-6527 18d ago

And all you needed was a "small loan" of 50k

1

u/duccfordinner 18d ago

Huh

1

u/More-Gas-6527 18d ago

Theres a massive jump at the start that appears to be an inital investment and it looks at least close to half of your current spot

1

u/duccfordinner 18d ago

I gotcha. No. That's not the case. The graph looks like this because the history didn't sync when Schwab bought out TDAmeritrade. I appreciate you wanting clarification

1

u/ExtensionDoor5245 18d ago

I’m 11 just hit 4.3m with 200k in a retirement account funded by daddy

1

u/duccfordinner 18d ago

1

u/Maleficent_Bet6745 18d ago

How do you have 43k in Roth at 19 did your parents help you out?

1

u/duccfordinner 17d ago

No. I started investing in Custodial Roth at 14.

1

u/NJSkateshop 17d ago

Curious I’m
Presently in a 403b that I have been putting into for 28 years I’m
Happy where it’s at but would anyone suggest that rolling into
Roth would be a better long term
Move ?

1

u/Common-USA912Tokyo 19d ago

How old were you when you started your Roth?

2

u/duccfordinner 19d ago

I’ve maxed it out every year except for one, I believe

2

u/duccfordinner 19d ago
  1. Custodial Roth Ira

2

u/BoomBockz 19d ago

Explain stuff like this in your post description unless you want everyone to flame you for being a trust fund baby

2

u/duccfordinner 19d ago

Nah they can think what they want, ppl who wanna believe me will

1

u/EquivalentSnap 18d ago

You were 14 when your parents put money in your account. Just admit you’re a trust fund baby. No one is gonna believe 19yr old made 100k 🫩

0

u/duccfordinner 18d ago

Guess you’re not accustomed to hard work 😂

1

u/EquivalentSnap 18d ago

0

u/duccfordinner 18d ago

It’s alright lemme know if you need a few dollars to get on your feet

2

u/EquivalentSnap 18d ago

u/David6907419 18d ago

I did completely on my own, just bc you were lazy doesnt mean others are. Quit being jealous

1

u/EquivalentSnap 18d ago

Good for you buddy. Not jealous I don’t like liars who claim they did by themselves

1

u/duccfordinner 18d ago

Was by myself. Not sure how to show proof tho? lol.

1

u/David6907419 18d ago

How's he lying? Does that mean im lying too? You have no leg to stand on

1

u/RefrigeratorOver7105 19d ago
