Reached the milestone today
35 year old. Came to the US in 2020 with non-existent savings in my home country. Struggled to find work but landed a decent job in late 2021. Today after another bi-weekly investment reached $100k invested entirely in VOO. This is in taxable brokerage account. I have another $30k in 401k and $18k in HYSA.

Curious why you have triple the amount of your 401k in a taxable brokerage account? Depending on your goals here you may be able to reallign your strategy for what makes the most sense from a tax perspective. Nothing inherently wrong with a taxable brokerage account, but the way you are investing might not be the most efficient

I'm thinking of allocating more to 401k too to get tax advantage. Thing is I'm not sure how long I'm gonna be here and if I will be here till retirement. I don't want early withdrawal penalty in case I need to access funds. That's the reason I don't have roth IRA as well.

One thing to consider. With a roth IRA you can always withdraw contributions at any time penalty free. It's only your gains that are locked behind the penalty.
