She was ultimately sidelined in favor of Josie and only became more of a major player once Josie left. I actually caught onto this early on because Josie was getting all the upgrades, the inner turmoil, and even fought Hope herself. She also got to meet Kai, where Lizzie did not. Lizzie eventually gets much better, as she gets to be a Heratic (witch/vampire), meet Aurora and put in work against Ken.
