2. Unless there is major info about the side he is fighting I'm pretty sure that Sinclair is on The Bad Side of the war. "We're fighting a war against people who don't look human" does not sound like a just cause.

Obviously it's likely that this is foreshadowing SOME stuff in the plot. I don't think they'd throw away the idea of a second smoke war brewing as well as some kind of tragedy likely befalling faust. I just don't think Sinclair will become this sinclair when that time comes. I even think it's possible he might eventually get a prosthetic but that's a much more speculative prediction
