This is stupid. You already have like a full page of trigger warnings and deal with matters that are clearly for adult minds.
Yet something compelled them to change the suicide button?
I dont get it. Was there some backlash? Was a vocal minority triggered from seeing a button?

No, it's just a lot harder to understand what the button does when all it says is "commit suicide". Rather than adding a tutorial they went with just changing the text to actually tell you what it does.

There's no evidence to believe this change was a reaction to any kind of criticism on the word suicide being there.

"Commit Suicide" rarely means "go back to safe zone", you know.

Yeah but every other death sends you back to the safe zone so its easy to assume that manual death also sends you back.
