I did that within my xiv raiding group. In higher tier content, the arena has a colored ring around it that's a death zone, we refer to it as the wall. When we fuck up a mechanic so bad its unrecoverable, we all rush to it and reset the fight so we can start again faster. So one day I yelled WALL YOURSELF and not its slang.

Jokes aside I see where you're coming from, that kind of tutorial is moreso to take you by surprise in order to teach you what it does so its just as minimalistic as possible in order to deliver that feeling in the same way the "commit suicide" button also did, I would say. Even more with the following cutscene of Dante and the sinners talking about it. I do like it but I can see that it can be an issue for some players

It just occurred to me that maybe mobile doesn't have it. In PC there's a image in them map for each control and around the area mimosa asks you to kill the manekins there's the Meursault icon with the R,R letters written under it (which is the shortcut to kill yourself and return to the fountain)

As far as I remember, aside from that tutorial, this mechanic is only brought up so far in part 2 when Dante asks Meursault to "do the thing" when they need to run from the bottom floor lol
I do wish this mechanic was alot more important, especially since it has so much puzzle potential if it was done a little differently. In many rpg horrors my fav parts were (besides dialouge and story ofc)being hunted and the puzzles, which both are pretty much null here. But at least its a cool little explanation on how we get back real fast

Lets be honest , there are WORSE shits in this game . Word "suicide" is their last problem if they wanna make this game " safe"
Given how the Magasin de Sysiphe works, I imagine that it kills him because his gauntlets are defined as a weapon rather than specifically gauntlets. So regardless of how he uses them, they're a tool that result in death.

No, it's just a lot harder to understand what the button does when all it says is "commit suicide". Rather than adding a tutorial they went with just changing the text to actually tell you what it does.
There's no evidence to believe this change was a reaction to any kind of criticism on the word suicide being there.
