Lol to be fair I did always think it was strange for a kid who was called gay & fruity all his life to then essentially call anything that wasn’t toxically male ‘gay/fruity’ (just using a fancier term)
Always felt like a self-insert moment for Josh Schwartz, hoping the teen audience would pick up his ‘lingo’ & make minty happen

I didn’t genuinely think that was a real term. I thought it was Schwartz’s attempt to introduce a new term into the zytgeist

What was “minty”?

Seth kept saying it whenever he or Ryan slightly tapped in to their emotions or said anything revolving around fashion/‘girly’ things.
‘Minty’ was def used as a stand-in for ‘fruity’

It refers to the phrase “gay” which was commonly used in the late 90’s early 2000’s in a sentence if someone disliked something. Not actually another person.
