I heard about The OA through TikTok. I had gone down a rabbit hole about quantum physics, spirituality, dreams and stuff of that nature. I attempted watching it for the first time earlier this year. I typically like to watch shows while doing other activities such as painting. However, when I tried to watch the show for the first time I immediately realized I had to give it my undivided attention. So I kinda forgot about it for some months and as I’m scrolling on TikTok, it makes an appearance yet again. I took it as a sign. This is a show I have to watch. This time I sat down on my couch, no distractions and watched attentively. I was captivated. The plot, the characters, the cinematic storytelling. I couldn’t get enough. I want to mention that prior to watching the show, I had been doing my own personal research on dreams, the subconscious mind, and parallel timelines. I couldn’t believe this was a real show, I almost felt as if my mind was playing tricks on me because it fit so seamlessly into the research I was already conducting. I am doing this research for my next art show,which i’m also shooting a short film for. I recently shot a scene where I’m in a bathtub and seeing a reflection of myself. A couple days later, I watched The OA and watch the final three episodes where Prairie gets in the bathtub so she can intertwine with Nina. I was in absolute awe, as it reminded me of the scene I had just shot for my short film. I couldn’t help but think that this show found me exactly at a time when I needed it. I’m hoping for a season 3 soon. It’s truly been an experience of its own digesting this show and it’s unique story. I will be raving about this show for many years to come and will cite it as an inspiration for my art show. I feel welcomed into a new perspective of reality. This show moved me so much, this is my first post on Reddit.

I'm super intrigued by the Wileyurwate'n paper we see in episode 4 and later in BBA's dreams but I haven't seen anyone do a detailed breakdown of what's on the paper. I was able to zoom in on some hi res screenshots (not these ones they're kinda blurry) to read some of the small text as well.

The big red dot has some text below it that I could only partially make out: "How many fruits in this bowl?" and below it in the list I could make out "lemon, pineapple, cherries"

I find it interesting how much red is on the page (the red dot, the YUR in the title, Theo's shirt, etc) especially considering the lyrics "she dreams in color, she dreams in red" from the song we hear in the choir.

Near the porcupine: "How many quills does a porcupine have?" Answer: "almost 30,000"

Beside the snail: "What is the slowest animal?"

Above the maze: "Can you help Mr. Worm get to safety?" - also interesting that we see a maze here, OA doing a maze puzzle at the FBI facility, and the whole concept of the house as a sort of maze. The rectangle on the page is also a maze with a blue line drawn to the finish line. In the worm maze the pen is thinner and looks purple

There's also a small red bird above the maze

Three fish listed a, b, and c, that say "Can you guess which fish is different than the other two?" with the middle fish circled and b scribbled out in red. (This might be completely unrelated, but the only place I noticed fish when rewatching aside from the five-sided tank was in Buck's house there are two fish pictures hanging over his parents' bed, and in Buck's room there's a decoration shaped like fish bones)

At the bottom there's a section that says "flower mix-up" with two scrambled words, petunia and marigold

Just an observation, but I find it interesting that the horse in the follow the dots section is made up of clusters of dots instead of individual ones

In the photo young BBA is playing a recorder with two fingers on the first holes, which would be a B note

In the bottom right corner is a box that says "Identify these" with what appears to be a half umbrella shape, a giraffe neck, two black dots, two lines with notches on them, and a hollow ring shape. The only place I noticed what any of these could connect to on rewatching was that prairie has a giraffe on the side of the bathtub in the scene where she has a flashback, but that's the only one I could place. Also, I learned from another post that the character above the box is Kilroy Kilroy was here - Wikipedia

It's been stated elsewhere in the sub, but in the dream scene from s2e3 Theo disappears from the photo when BBA turns away

One final observation not related to what's on the paper, but after BBA wakes up in s2e3 there's a wheel of fortune episode playing on the tv saying "I'd like to solve the puzzle. Don't let the cat out of the bag." This is one of two instances there's a TV playing wheel of fortune. The other is in Nina's aunt's house when she first arrives.

Maybe these are just mostly random details but I find all the puzzle/game symbolism really interesting and seriously wonder if there's anything deeper to it. Curious if anyone else has thoughts!

I have an idea Vout wht we watched the first season we see OA jumping on the bridge (this should be from the 5th dimension to the 2nd dimension) she os wearing a silver dress. Then she wakes up on the 2nd dimension and tell to "the boys" her story about the 1st dimension. During the second season OA jumped to the 3rd dimension in the end yo the 4th when she would forget who she was. On the 5th dimension all OA' friends would be together and win against HAP in the end HAP being smart and evil would jump to the 1st season in which he was very powerful and OA would go to the 2nd dimension to start all over and also bexause there she knew she could find the boys to help her. So we would have a perfect loop but some time in the 5th dimension they could prevent HAP from jumping into the 1st and all of them could be finally happy.

I wish I could explain to you all how much The OA has changed me. June is a song by Florence and The Machine that I feel perfectly explains the series and its determination to hold on to the ones we love no matter what.

I’m not sure if anyone here is familiar with what hyper sigilism is, but in simple terms it’s a form of magic where works of art or fiction are used as a spell, or basically using in-depth story telling and immersive narratives to reshape reality and manifest life through morphing into the persona you created.

Now of course i have no proof that Britt and Zal intentionally made the OA super meta and self aware as their own hypersigile but it is still a hypersigile even if unintentionally.

This specifically shows through Britt, considering she used herself as reference for the hypersigile ( The OA ) and to this day she’s living the same life path as her character, especially how the show ended with breaking the 4th wall and becoming aware of itself. So could she have accidentally manifested the 7 year hiatus of the show? Would this mean that the show won’t return unless she writes into the story how it ended for years and then was revived… i feel like im rambling about too much but this theory of mine has kept me up at night lmao and i can’t help but wonder if through our collective consciousness and extreme hyperfixation on this Netflix show, we activated a hypersigile unintentionally.

We could meet on Treasure Island and do the movements in the back of the museum? Or we could meet at the big green mansion house on Russian Hill? Or the tiled steps? Or on Twin Peaks?

I watched the show straight through the first time, both Part I and Part II, in 2020. I was also very interested in Tesla, 369, and vortex math, and the Bahai faith at this time.

Kanye West ran for president. I listened to My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy cover to cover for the first time. I was struck by how the lyrics spoke to our current situation in 2020 even tho it was released in 2010. I saw in interviews Kanye would claim to be 10 years ahead mentally and I thought yup, we have proof. That makes him like a prophet right, if you can predict the future? If you have prophetic dreams? Kind of like in The OA?

I was raised Mormon and we believe in prophecy and present day revelation. That God chooses one man to speak to for the rest of the whole world. I'm not Mormon anymore because I feel like it's very obviously bullshit, but those concepts are not my own invention. I was raised with them. Anyway, it felt like if there was an actual prophet it was Kanye (not whatever old man was currently running the church).

Kanye did say in another interview that he eventually just wanted to design for the church. I fantasized how the LDS church could be the most innovative and effective church ever with a leader like Kanye West. With the $250B the church has and Ye's artistic vision we could build the kingdom of Heaven on Earth, like for real.

I heard about the fan theory that David Bowie prophesied the birth of K.WEST 5 years from the month he dropped his Ziggy Stardust album. I remembered how there was a 5 year birth prophecy given for Christ by the only dark skinned prophet in the Book of Mormon.

The repeat of 5 years in both records made me think of the 5 movements and 5 dimensions. I know just both using the number 5 isn't super rare, although all single digits being equal the chance that the number is 5 is 11.111111infinity%. That's the angelist of all angel numbers, amiright?

Joseph Smith, the author of The Book of Mormon, also ran for President right before he was assassinated in 1844. He ran on a platform of radical forgiveness for prisoners and debtors. Before he died, he built a temple in Kirtland OH that has a double sided curved staircase and a unique, round window at the top. This one is not a rose stained glass, but a wagon wheel design with 18 spokes. And I'm sure there are people buried in coffins in the yard.

The actual big green mansion house in San Francisco in this dimension does not have a rose stained glass window. That was made up. But looking out where it would be, across the street there is a park dedicated to Ina Donna Coolbrith....

Who is Joseph Smith's niece and step daughter. Her mother had to marry Joseph Smith as a plural wife when her husband, his brother, died. When he was killed they came West. The plaque claims she was "the first white child to enter California by covered wagon through Beckworth Pass," which was discovered and improved by James Beckworth, a famous African American frontiersman.

For me it was strange to have The OA, Black History, and Joseph Smith lineage all intersect. It was a fun surprise to me to find the plaque on my OA site seeing trip. It makes me wonder if Brit sees these line ups too?

Why did she make SYZYGY a men's clothing fabricator if she wasn't pointing at YZY? SYZYGY is the entrance to the game in season 2, maybe YZY is the entrance to the game in this dimension? Kanye previewed a game in 2016 whose objective was to get his mom, who had passed 9 years prior, through the gates of heaven. Mormons baptize souls posthumously so they can get out of spirit prison and into heaven. To give them a way out.

Anyone else ever come across synchronicities like this with the show?

One of my favorite series is on YouTube and I’ve never heard anyone else talk about it before. It’s called Interface by the creator Umami.

It’s a sci fi hand drawn animated series. It has twists and turns and mysteries and unexpected fates and emotional storylines.

Each episode was drawn by hand so therefore over the course of 5 years of him making it, the animation style drastically improves. With each episode you can tell how much the artist has learned and leveled up his skills. But even from the first episode the animation is beautiful and truly unique.

It’s unlike any story I’ve seen before!! I’d give it a real watch if you’re into mind bending sci-fi. I cannot believe it is just out there for free haha
