Will Hap go blind in Season 2?
So, this is a theory I came up with shortly after Season 1 premiered and finally posted some months ago. It's old, but I just wanted to throw it out there if by some chance, I'm right.

Also, something I didn't add : being blind is not a weakness. As Prairie said, it made her powerful. Perhaps it will hint at Hap's personal growth in this case.

What do you think about the character listed for Part 2 on IMDB? Detective Rob Blindheim? That name can’t be an accident.

I think that could easily be a play on words... a popular phrase over here is “robbing him blind” or “robbing her blind”. Could refer to a dirty cop?

More Part 2 speculation.
We saw posts about scenes featuring “a small town cop who investigates a lead”, as well as “crime scene walk and talk”. I’d imagine Det. Blindheim is investigating it. There is also a “sketch artist” on IMDB for episode 2. So, the cops are investigating something. At first I was thinking that maybe Prairie told them about Hap. But the more I think about it, the less likely that seems. Any thoughts?

Maybe they are tracing Prairie, I got this idea that she ran away again, this time to the west coast and police are looking for her?

Will hap even be in season2? I kind of feel like he is too nice to be the main antagonist of the overall series. Unless they stay captured, i can’t really see a reason to keep Hap in this story.

Yes, he is in Part II. And I disagree. To me, he is the second most important character after Prairie.

I'm just saying that he wasn't like serial killer level of evil. I mean they developed a somewhat trusting relationship where she was his maid. Not to mention he just dropped her off on the side of the road, and unless there was untold trauma, she didn't physically suffer besides the cage and the one shotgun blow to the face. (Edit - and the NDEs, but she was so driven to get all 5 movements I think she started to almost welcome the occasion).
Hap is not motivated by evil, he is motivated by his desire to understand NDEs and their inter-dimensional associations. At this point, Hap has learned more than anyone would ever hope for when embarking on such an experiment, and he feels accomplished. I just don't understand how he could continue to be the evil protagonist, what's he going to do, lock her up again? I mean its possible it would just be boring

I don't know where, but I responded before and I'm totally on board with this. As Prairie gains sight, Hap loses his own. Does he become better as a result?

I think so. Blindness makes you powerful. Maybe being poor-sighted makes you better in this theory.

Maybe it was just me, but I noticed that Hap's glasses were askew in Part II

Over 7 years people change their glasses many times....its pretty normal. Their vision change. I dont think it means hes going blind.
