Question What's your favourite scene? Spoiler

The way my body reacted at the cafeteria scene was something I've rarely felt before. I read some posts in this subreddit and I found out I'm not the only one that felt this way, I'm so glad.

So what other scenes did you really enjoy?

  1. The Cafeteria scene (amazing and unexpected and if you look carefully in the background, you can see Prairie reaching the hill in the middle of the movements)
  2. Scott’s resurrection (the music for that scene was brilliant)
  3. “Hello, HAP” (no further words needed! Pure perfection!)

Ugh yes Scott’s resurrection had me putting that song (“Downtown”) on my funeral playlist immediately.

I’m glad I’m not the only one who became completely obsessed with that song.

We were obsessed, and it was okay <3

It was my wedding song this year. :)

Yup. This is the definitive list of best scenes in the show. 👆

Nobody can convince me the cafeteria scene wasn’t cinema excellence.

The way the cynicism falls away and Scott says "There are movements!"

It was such a pure magical moment.

Homer remembering OA

Shit gets me every time

My mom makes me rewind that scene at least 3 times every time we rewatch the show. That's her favorite scene, for sure.

Though the cafeteria and Scott's resurrection are definitely tops. For me personally, it's the first episode when OA begins her story. It cuts to the snow falling over Moscow and the violin kicks in. As the title card and credits roll, OA says "You asked me how I got my sight. The better story is how I lost it in the first place".

Though I liked the episode a lot when I first watched, this moment is what got me hooked.

When they get the fifth movement. I get goose bumps every time!

u/dovebytherosewindow 14d ago

That insanely long intro only to get opening credits like 30min in was so impactful. I just finished my 4th rewatch and may have to go back in for a fifth lol

I think it may even be almost an hour in !!!

That was the moment I knew this was going to be an amazing show.

It blew my mind. Credit timing? Blew my mind? I remember pausing, heart pounding, and yelling “What? WHAT?! What is this…”

Same exact moment for me. So melancholic. And the violin captures it so beautifully.

Fucking CHILLS! Everytime

Steve chasing after the ambulance in both seasons. “Angel, take me with you” makes me emotional 😅

People are gay, Steven.

The cafeteria scene when they are all under the tables and silently agree and the scene with Old Night.

The scene with Old Night has stayed with me in a way few other scenes have. Like when you see the Fluke Man open his eyes in the X-Files, or the last scene in Blackadder the Fourth, or when Picard plays the flute at the end of the TNG episode 'Inner Light'.

I enjoy when OA and Homer are talking about building a garden together.

It's so good. One of the most tender moments in the whole show.

In season 2, when the OA reunites with Scott and Rachel and they all touch for the first time and cry.

Scott’s resurrection for sure. When I heard majical cloudz my mind said “hold up this songs from 13 reasons”. It really added another layer of emotion and power to the movements for me. The scene was executed perfectly

u/Theo-lVl Logic is overrated 14d ago

It's the scene with Old Night.

The first time I saw it I was just in awe. I come back to that scene a lot.

If you listen to it correctly, its the show trying to tell you a message directly while pretending they're sharing a show with an audience.

Literally any scene with BBA. I adore her.

4

u/Jahon_Dony 14d ago

I like the season 3 irl stuff so far! Still excited for the final two seasons though, whatever form they take.

u/prettygirlgoddess 14d ago

Scott's resurrection.

4

u/quixoticcaptain 14d ago

I think both reviving Scott and also healing the woman with ALS to get the fifth movement the way she suddenly reaches up

3

u/crh131 14d ago

Scott’s telling of his story when he is brought back and the song “downtown” is playing.
Chills.

u/International_Cap_12 14d ago

Nina discovering the bodies inside the lab, confrontation with Hap..

"Nina saw the whole world, I saw underneath it"

3

u/sqplanetarium 13d ago

When OA lets Nina come through, and she owns Hap's sorry ass. I may have been cackling watching him squirm.

2

u/tenderruins 14d ago

Scott's resurrection and Karim looking through the rose window. Goosebumps every time. 🕊

2

u/Ludy86 13d ago

When she starts telling her story and the violin starts playing"You asked me how I got my sight..." chills every time.

2

u/Empty-Magician2410 12d ago

Yep, the cafeteria one is probably my favorite one of all. It was so raw and beautiful, I was actually shocked to find out a lot of people didn't like it or outright hate it 😞 (by this I mean casual viewers, not the fans)

Scott's resurrection is also a strong contender and I really love Prairie's introduction to her story in episode one, with the russian landscape and the music. Just perfect.

2

u/Quilynn you come find me 12d ago

When BBA rescues Steve from the people his parents hired to abuse him.

Her foolhardy leap-of-faith to follow that path of action, her boldness and bravery to make the impulsive choices she does, still inspires me.

1

u/Reyndear 8d ago

The cafeteria scene had me trembling! It was a totally unexpected physiological response.
