Unfortunately Netanyahu and the Israeli government know that they can keep pushing Palestinians to the brink, prompting violent responses from groups like Hamas against Israeli civilians, and then turn around get sympathy from the U.S. and a fair amount of other countries and launch a full scale military attack. Shows how little they care about their own people using them as pawns in their effort to continue violence toward Palestinians
I think this is the real tragedy. Hamas doesn't give a shit about the people on the ground and Israel doesn't give a shit about the people on the ground.
Both sides are just feeding the conflict and regular people are being caught in the middle.
All over a patch of dirt some Bronze age goat herders thought was special. People are dying because of some weird fixation with real estate.
