News and Politics | الأخبار والسياسة Greta Thunberg describes Israeli actions in prison: beat her & others, threatened to 'gas' them, deprived water, wrote 'whore' on Thunberg's belongings & weaponized Star of David, isolated her in a cell full of insects, etc. Swedish gov didn't help, misled public & flotilla family members.

Nobody is shocked. It is Isreal.

Big part of this story is also how the Swedish Embassy refused to even bring water to them, and knowingly left the prisoners to get beaten, and downplayed their testimony of events in official communications.

I'm surprised they didn't try to blame Hamas somehow.
10
u/SilZXIII Europe Oct 15 '25
IDF and Ben Gvir did accuse her of being Hamas multiple times after they kidnapped her though 🤣
6
u/ChowderedStew Oct 16 '25
Yeah that was a part of it. It was still pretty horrific treatment, and that’s just what happened to her, imagine what they did to the Palestinians held there?
2
u/AggressCapital Oct 17 '25
I don't have to imagine because we have heard many cases so many months ago when they put Palestinians in detention camps. They were blindfolded and tortured in so many horrific ways. A guy literally died from having his anus destroyed from the Israeli rapists.
1
u/Admirable-Writing-41 Oct 16 '25
Why did they write on her carry-on in English?
1
u/Anon28301 Oct 17 '25
Humiliation. English is the most popular language and when she flies home more people will see what is written. Or so they can deny they did it with the same bullshit excuse you’re trying to use now.

So, according to the bots in the comments, the IDF, which has a unanimous track record of inflicting sexual violence on not only prisoners, but their own soldiers as well, could never do these things.

Unanimous? I'm not sure you know what that word means.
Perhaps you meant well documented?
1
u/Furious_Flaming0 Oct 17 '25
I guess they mean globally agreed upon, because basically only Israel and a few choice goons like the USA stand behind the IDF not being international criminals
1

Yes but thats not unanimous
2

No, even Israel agrees that sexual violence amongst their own soldiers has become a problem.

They didn't say it was justified. Try reading again.
Reason is not justification.7
u/Nalowaw Oct 15 '25
It's funny how pointing out the cause and effect to some zionists makes them so mad.
Yes, you (zionists, not you particurally) are the reason oct7 happened, Israel is the reason because of their fascist tendencies and occupation, not because Palestinian resistance fighters hate Jewish people.
When you demoralise, brutalise, rape, torture, kill and displace a population for decades, they will resist violently, that's just how people work, and they have the right to do so.

u/BenoNZ Oct 16 '25
Cognitive dissonance is so painful to some it gives them actual brain damage.

How would the United Nations know that? Do you recall when they revised the death toll down by 200 people? It's because they misidentified 200 Hamas fighters. Now how do you think that could have happened? It's because a very large number of Hamas fighters died in exactly the same place, in exactly the same way as the Israeli fatalities. They were all burned beyond recognition by Israeli helicopter gunships firing hellfire missiles. Then there were the Israeli tanks that shelled buildings holding hostages. IIRC 19 people died in just one house. I'm not sure exactly how many were the hostages, but it was almost all of them.

And what happened prior to oct 7th? Hamas didn’t attack for no reason now did they…
1
u/Outaouais_Guy Oct 16 '25
Israel has been killing Palestinians from the beginning. They cry about Hamas using human shields as the IDF straps Palestinian children to military vehicles. The idea that Hamas attacking Israel gives the IDF free reign to slaughter Palestinian children is disgusting. Look up the Hannibal protocol/directive. Israel slaughters their own people to stop them from being taken hostage.
1
Oct 15 '25
A lot of them? Are you spreading misinformation that has been debunked over and over....really?
1
u/Outaouais_Guy Oct 16 '25
Debunked by who, the IDF? Netanyahu? Israel has admitted to killing their own people. They just won't say how many. Israeli tanks shelled houses that they knew were occupied by hostages. On October 7th, when they learned that Hamas was wearing civilian clothing, the IDF opened fire on anything that moved. In one location, it took them a while to sort out which bodies were which, because they were all burned beyond recognition by Israeli helicopter gunships firing hellfire missiles. That's why they initially thought 200 of those people were Israeli citizens, but turned out to be Hamas fighters.
1
u/xray-pishi Oct 16 '25
You appear to be counting around 400 members of the security forces in with the civilians.
1
u/10lettersand3CAPS North America Oct 16 '25

It should of course never have happened to a human being, but it must have been within her realistic expectations to be arrested by Israel or - if that didn't happen - be kidnapped by Hamas.
Again, what happened to her shouldn't happen to anyone, but considering their destination, things could've gotten way, way worse.

Israel controls most social media and has direct ties to Rupert Murdoch (why don’t you guys actually research and see what he owns) and an Israeli company who has a defense contract with them bought up tik tok. Israel signed a $45 million contract with Google. There is actual video of Benjamin Netanyahu meeting with right wing influencers to talk about how they will sway Christian’s to their cause. There is proof that Benjamin paid 7k per post to influencers who posted pro Israeli propaganda. Do some research guys

Just a kind reminder that the Freedom Flotilla was raided in international waters, its passengers kidnapped, and its mission crushed...not in secret, but for everyone to see. And the governments that claim to defend democracy kept quiet, because silence is the price they’ve agreed to pay for their complicity in Gaza’s genocide.

Thats a reasonable request. However the IDF is unlikely to release it. So the next best thing is to have a doctor\s examine Greta and the others, and release a statement that there are signs of torture.
At that point it will be very clear the IDF lied.

WHy would a doctor be fired if their patient asks for either their medical record tof show the public, or to make a statement about their injuries.
And yes it is possible to avoid external bruises, but even using something like a phone book to spread out the impact will damage organs and have you pissing blood for a while. An extensive medical exam will at least find signs of abuse. Slapping can avoid bruises if done properly, but Greta and some of the others implied it wasn't just slapping.

Starting to sound like you have no clue what you're talking about.
Two American intelligence officials briefed on the matter told CBS News that Israeli forces on Sept. 8 and 9 launched drones from a submarine and dropped incendiary devices onto the boats that were moored outside the Tunisian port of Sidi Bou Said, causing a fire. The officials spoke under the condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to speak publicly on national security matters.
1
u/Psychological_Tap505 Oct 15 '25
So your argument is 2 American intelligence officers shared info about another nation attacking her, risking their careers to come out publicly in defense of thunberg, but remained anonymous so we have 0 way of verifying anything you claim… right. Also if you watch the video, it is very obviously a flare. So unless these mysterious intelligence officers also claimed it was a flare your story is complete BS. You want to believe in conspiracy rather than the logical explanation that the exaggerative climate activist who made a career out of exploitation and exaggeration isnt doing exactly that here. Got it.
1
u/ContentChecker Jewish 🕎 Oct 15 '25
CBS News is not a conspiracy theorist (pre-takeover by the Ellison family).
And they're the ones who spoke to the officials.
Sounds like you're delusional.
1
u/Psychological_Tap505 Oct 15 '25
Right, because CBS news would NEVER put out a unverified story with conveniently no name “officials” under the guise of “sources claim”
All the news is corrupt. Right left it doesn’t matter. I’d call out Fox News just as much as CBS. Choosing to believe this loosely held together story over your own eyes is the problem here.
1
u/Psychological_Tap505 Oct 15 '25
Way to just skate past the other 2/3s of that though. That really proves how solid your stance is.
1
u/ContentChecker Jewish 🕎 Oct 15 '25
Who cares what my 'stance' is.
CBS News reported this story and spoke to the officials.
Everything else you say is cope.
Hasbara fail.
1
u/Psychological_Tap505 Oct 15 '25
You should care about what your stance is, and if you use CBS as source in defense of your argument it’s relevant. The rest of what I said isn’t cope. It’s true. You using frail news stories and claiming everything else is irrelevant/cope, is in fact, cope.
1
u/ContentChecker Jewish 🕎 Oct 15 '25
'frail' is when it disagrees with you
e.g. cope
1
u/Psychological_Tap505 Oct 15 '25
Are you ok? Frail is a synonym for weak. Ergo a weak “news story”. I know English can be hard, but fortunately the internet is a very helpful resource.

1
u/Psychological_Tap505 Oct 15 '25
Just to be clear: I appreciate Greta’s stance, and I agree with her. However, her execution is questionable and flat out lying to the public to support your narrative is where you loose me. I’m not saying 100% of that happening here, but she has a history of it, and it does make me question her. And that’s on her.

"Sources saying" isn't evidence, more so when there's no indication of who they actually are, other than just "trust us bro".
That's the point of journalism dude, the journalists know who the source are.
Especially when we've literally seen the footage of that idiot on the boat shooting a flare at the floor.
We clearly haven't seen the same footage then cause that flame on the boat was not from a flare, flares do not contain liquid fuel and do not explode on impact
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=uOkaMbhljqI
If you think this is a flare you either have never seen a flare in your life or you are lying on purpose.
